My great uncle worked the coal mines in PA and he was only 14 in 1900! That's what you did to support your family!

My grandfather was killed in a coal mine explosion 100 years ago, leaving a widow and 6 children.

Very similar methods to Small Mines used in South Wales 1990's. Explosives, Shovels and Horses. The conditions in these pictures look a a lot better than 1990's Welsh Mines.
