For this video I thought I would share how I prepare ingredients on Sunday that I can use the rest of the week! The veggie dishes I made can be used for anything, like the curry in this video.
The potato chips made with the waffle slicer were delicious! I personally recommend adding lemon salt to them. If you don't have lemon salt, then rock salt is my other recommendation.

Renkon salad:
Renkon (lotus root)
Mizuna
Red cabbage
Pea sprouts
Ham
Orange bell pepper
+carrot dressing
Potato chips:
May Queen potatos
Lemon salt
Dill weed
Rice oil
+waffle slicer
Vegetable mix:
Pumpkin
Bell peppers

Mini-asparagus
I don't think Jun said it anywhere but he totally used orange and purple ingredients for Halloween

people requesting for jun to make a kitchen asmr without realising that it's already asmr. asmr don't always necessarily require you to whisper. the sound of him chopping, stirring, food sizzling, etc is also considered as asmr and he's talking very softly too that's soothing and relaxing enough.

One of the cutest things about long term relationships is when you see one person take on some of the traits/mannerisms of the other. When Jun was calling Kohaku "buddy", all I could hear was Rachel! Even the intonation in the way that he said it too, what a bunch of cuties!
My sister has a boyfriend from Ecuador, and they have been together for almost 5 or 6 years. It's so cute because he's started to use a lot of southern slang (we live in Oklahoma). But he still has a Latino accent, its amazing.

It's actually soothing to watch Jun cook. He doesn't talk often, which doesn't add unnecessary energy. Whenever I feel over stressed, I watch Jun. Calming and educational! Yay!!
I understand that Jun's kitchen takes a lot of effort and time to shoot and edit.... So in between, you can also make this type of video every week, literally just watching you prepare vegies and cook... and I would still love to watch it haha. It's so calming.
It would be great if you could do a video on meals you could prepare in the evening and take with you to work or uni (like small side dishes or bento boxes)! As a poor university student, I really try to cut down my expenses and bring food from home with me, so it would be great to get some more ideas!
Stew, salads, stir fry, and fried foods are all great.

@K H a rice cooker is your friend, just see the water level on the pot and experiment with it to get it to cook to your liking. No teaching required.
Elerie Most students don’t have a rice cooker as its to expensive and they could just use a saucepan with water and cook rice that way
it would be great if they were healthy too, in my opinion the point of cooking your own food is partly to help keep a good weight haha

Well it also depends on what chanel you are. Some chanels have good people and they get good people too. Of course this is not always the case. On Cream heroes chanel for example most of the comments are also very nice.

I dont understand the whole "proper way" to cut things. If you are so bad at paying attention that you cut your finger you are going to lose it regardless of if you turn them one way or the other.

A razor sharp knife is actually safer than a dull because with a dull knife more force is required to cut an object creating more chances for high force accidents such as slipping across an onion and hitting your fingers /knuckles

i want to use em, but my pots and pans are old so metal chopsticks are off the table, the take out chopstick out of wood are to short, i have reusable chopsticks that are resin covered wood, so you can clean them, so i can try with them maybe,,? my point is, do you know what is the best material for cooking chopsticks?

Hey Jun, next time you should save the seeds from that squash. They can be roasted up into a lovely little snack. Boil in salted water until they go a bit grey (5 to 10 minutes), drain well, toss with just a little oil and salt and bake them on a tray at 400F(200C) until they dry out, get crisp and get a little color. Stir and check often (eat one!), how long it takes depends on the size of the seeds. Lovely crunchy snack.

Have you thought about purchasing a microwave steamer tray rather than using new paper towels and clingwrap for each veggie? Mine wasn’t very expensive and paid for itself fairly quickly in money saved on clingwrap. I’m not trying to be critical and I love watching Jun cook, but just thought it might make the prep faster/save money.
Not to mention he will reduce waste/plastic consumption :)
How does that work and what does that look like? Do you fill it with water or something? I love steamed vegetables. I have a pot with a strainer that you can put inside of it to transform into a type of steamer, but it takes forever. I wonder if the microwave thing you are speaking of would be faster. How much are they? Thanks.
@@hotcrazycatladyme168 They generally consist of a bowl, a basket/steaming tray, and a lid. The link below is similar in looks and price to the tray I have, but I've seen them priced anywhere between $5 and $50. I add water to the bottom bowl, place my tray with veggies and/or fish inside, then put the lid on top. I use google to figure out how long it needs to be microwaved. My steamer is also dishwasher safe so it is very convenient. In his next video, Jun shows a kind of silicon bag he purchased for steaming.

I’m not interested in cooking and watching recipes doesn’t help my interest growing. But watching Jun cooks.... wow 😮. It takes my interest to a whole new level. It looks fun
So this is a preparation of items you eat multiple times per week (salads/sides) just to save time, rather then actually being a meal preparation (i expected you to put the final meals together at the end ready to grab and go). It explains the lack of protein too ^_^
I've actually never thought of doing that until now! I always thought it was 100% the whole meal or nothing. Smart!

I honestly enjoy watching Jun's cooking so much! Its calming in a way I didnt think cooking could be, since whenever I cook it's pandemonium 😂 I guess thats just what happens when you're too chaotic good for your own good 💁
