I personally saw a series of tactical blunders made by both sides. Union was standing out in the open with no soft cover at all getting shot up by the CSA which was behind soft cover. Also Union units kept going in front of each other preventing one another from being able to shoot at times several times. Also, CSA all turtled up at the bottom of the hill near the road and kept getting pounded by Union arty when they should have been more spread out along the snake fence instead of all bunched up at the bottom. Overall I would say CSA made more tactical blunders here than the Union did even though they still managed to pull off a win.
