  • I made a crystal ball out of a globe from a lighting fixture and what I believe is a coaster holder. I hope you enjoy!

Cute idea. The base is a wine bottle caddy like trivet. Keeps sweaty bottle off your table & catches dribble spills.
    Cotton batting would dye nicely.

Thank you so much! I'm not really a wine drinker, so I never would have known that. Cotton batting is a good idea! 💡

How cool is that?! I have a whole cabinet full of wine bottle coasters and never once thought using them for anything else. So, if I could find myself a cast-off light globe...thank you for this fabulous inspiration!

This is too cute. You were lucky to find the base that fits the globe and the bling was a great touch. I wonder what the globe would look like with the mercury glass paint effect on the inside? Great job!

I had the same thought. Guess I'll have to try that next time 😉

Thank you for sharing your creativity. I’m loving it. Your silver piece is a wine bottle coaster. To keep drips off your table. 🍾

Tulle works really well. I made one last year, I used purple tulle to put inside a globe that I bought from dollar tree that comes with its lid. Several years back I had found a purple tea light candle at Wal-Mart that changes colors with every blink. I placed it on the inside of the lid, turned it on and it looks great if I do say so myself🙃

there's fake spider web you can sometimes get in bright colours. Maybe that would work

Maybe you can use some felting wool instead of the polyfill next time? It comes in basically every colour. It is more expensive though.

I have no idea how to dye polyfil, but if you have acrylic yarn in the colour you want to showcase, wrap it around a 3" width of cardboard and cut it down the length of your wrap. You'll now have 6" lengths of yarn. Next, fold them in half. Cord them over a dowel by passing the two cut ends though the loop making a fringe on the dowel. Take a cat brush and brush out the yarn from the dowel to the ends. It'll become fluffy. You can then just cut the fluff off of the dowel. Viola - vibrant fluff!

That's brilliant! My daughter is a yarner and has tons of yarn. I'll be trying that, thanks!

Looks like a wine coaster. You put a wine bottle in it. The cork was to absorb any moisture coming off the bottle.

I think it turned out awesome! I wonder if Distress Ink sprays would work to dye the Poly-fil? It stains everything touches… 😂 so, maybe?

I wondered that, too. I put all mine in destash boxes because I hardly ever used them anymore. Of course, as soon as I get rid of something is when I need it. 🤦‍♀️ I just need an expanding craft room. Lol

I have had better luck using metalics paint on the inside. The fairy lights then give of a nice glow

Synthetic material never takes dye well, something natural like cotton would be much easier

What is the tool you use to grab the rhinestones?

    • @illuminaticsstudio
      @illuminaticsstudio  10 месяцев назад +2

It's called a wax tip picker tool or a wax pen. Put those into Amazon and you'll get a ton of options. They are life changing. Lol
