Friday afternoon just got better thanks for the video Nick. When we are finished sowing we clean out the fertilizer box just like you do but we then get some diesel and spray and wipe over the inside of the box. This is on a old combine seeder not a air seeder.👍
@@SouthSaskFarmer1 we had to replace a mild steel fertilizer box on another old combine seeder one year so we had a new one made in town out of stainless steel. We still give it the same treatment as the others vacuum/blown out and some diesel over it for good measures.
we use old diesel on the seed tank, run it through a siphon gun n spray it into the running fan at the back and she coats er all the way to the boots (after it's pressure washed like)
Double disc openers, pick up a lot of things too...... But the "S" tines on the cultipacker just ahead of it catch even more.... Best year harvesting scrap metal, we filled a 55galon barrel and two 5 gallon buckets. Fertlizer.... Ya, I hate having that shit anywhere but in the spreader!!! Speaking of, the spreader just got cleaned up this afternoon!!😁 Tomorrow morning, after it's dried out good, she will get a diesel bath!!! (Everything from the cab back!!! Frame, axle, brakes, box, it all gets soaked good!!!!
Yep that's exactly how I used to do my dry fertilizer machine when I was done-- diesel bath. Cheaper than dealing with sh!t rusted solid LOL:) OL J R :)
@@lukestrawwalker much nicer 😎 I even release the park brakes (we have air brakes.. I hate juice brakes!) Soak the shoes and drums good, they work just fine when you go to use it again 😁👍
@@GosselinFarmsEdGosselin Agree completely!!! Air brakes are SOOOO much better than the d@mn hydro brakes on HD trucks... H3ll I'd have air brakes on my pickup if they made them that small... LOL:) OL J R :)
All you need for a wash in Ontario lately is just leave it outside , rain rain.lol. I tried some Krown salt eliminator for cleaning up fertilizer related areas and it seems to help neutralize the harshness quite a bit. Thx
I hear ya on finding collectables on the shanks, we farm some ground that hasn't been farmed with horses in 90 years, yet EVERY spring I pull stuff off related to horse hitches and harness' and such. Alway blows me away too
I'd love to send a couple inches of our rain to someone that needs it it's completely saturated here very little planted and several days out with no rain but forecast is for more ! Fertilizer dust is just like salt almost impossible to stop but looks like you're giving it your best shot! Thanks for the video!
New intro looks the goods mate , that versatile starts so nice you will need to pour diesel and oil down the exhaust to make it as impressive as those deeres on startup
We have a disc drill and I’ve had discs stop causing running over a fence nail and it runs up the disc until it jams the disc up ,don’t ask me how it happens but probably happened half a dozen times , keep the good videos!
Sure could use a couple inches of rain to give everything a good soaking. Hay isn't going to amount to a hill of beans if it doesn't rain soon. Did your canola get any frost damage?
It is sad to see grandpa guy just sitting there with a tow strap on the front axle. I like the 700, what are your intentions with it? When will that project get started? I like the videos of shop work.
@@SouthSaskFarmer1 I'll do a clean out video after we haul the cows out to pastures lol. But yes it's fine.. barely has a rib on it..unless it's just how it looks on camera
Good yo b done I bet!!!!! I still have 700 acres to plant! Keeps raining down here!! Should have bean done!! Oh well it’ll dry out sometime!!!!! Right.....
I took the original one out cleaned it. Springs were full of old hard grease part of the issue. Worked for alittle while. Replaced with a used one that did not have much use the reverse and third side slid half way out on me when i got stuck in a low spot lol
@@justinkittelson5583 hmmm .maybe its internal lol I've got a video about the inside of the tranny on the 895 if you go to my playlists and look for when we repainted it!
Well when I have the rods off the shifting forks i can move them pretty easy with a 10 inch crescent wrench. Maybe that rod has a slight bend or flexing on me when i try to shift it.
Do you keep both air seeders busy during seeding....why the second one? Wow, you have so many different things to manage, do you keep paper or digital tabs on what needs to be done next? I hope you see good rains.
@@jasultkon12 lmao ok ok old one I like more because of its openers for the peas and beans as it makes just one 1inch slice and one seed run it dosnt have that great big boot like the flexi coil making the cut in the middle for the nh3 and the. The second part making the seed trench 1.5 I chew to each side of the nh3 cut

When I was still farming, every tractor we ever owned had one of those crap collection spots, and always a bitch to get the mud out
Always looking forward to your video's Nick

Hey! Was wondering if you ever had trouble with the shift levers on your versatiles. My 875 has been a bear this year.
Yup get the rebuild kit for the floor shifter in the cab. 2 ball bearing and 5 spring and it will shift like you've never imagined lol
