Until recently, my 5/8th wave Gainmaster was mounted to a 4'f galvanized fence post attached to a cast iron umbrella stand, the antenna has a flat match and have contacted many Countries with the 4' mount that's measured at the feed point. Recently I came across a 25'f telescoping aluminum flag pole which the antenna is currently mounted to and To quite honest, I can't tell the difference between the umbrella stand or the current flag pole set-up. Theoretically speaking, a low takeoff angle is preferred for DX work which is pretty much all I do anyways, here In Palm Springs there is no one to chat with so mounting an antenna 40'ft or so isn't necessary. Anyways, great video, thanks for sharing! UDX-4570 Palm Springs saying 73's for now!😏👍⚡️🎙
That’s my problem too. No locals to talk to and that hillbilly is only 25ft up. I’ve done good on Skip like you is all I talk. My delta loop works great around 10-18ft up. Maybe one day we can work each other on ssb! 73’s
@@travelinjavelin the two aluminum elements are 12’ 3” long. The wire I used in 14ga stranded copper also 12’ 3”. It’s cut for 27.3850. I feed the antenna at the bottom to give it a horizontal polarity. Hope that helps. Also you need a 7’4” piece of 75 ohm coax cable for a matching stub. Guess I’ll do a video on that. Hope that helps!
@@jamesabc372 yes it’s the home brew loop. All 3 sides are 12’ 3”. With a 7’ 3” piece of 75ohm coax that hooks one end to the bottom of the loop other end to your 50ohm coax. I got more videos on the build of this antenna!

Great stuff. May have to build one myself.
It’s easy to build works very well
Wish you had more pictures of that antenna what are your measurements?

Is this homebrew loop and what are the specs?
