Looks like the dove’s puffin’ his feathers out too. Those red-bellies can be bold; they don't take any crap from anyone in my yard.

I love woodpeckers and doves! It’s funny how doves are actually tough and able to stand up for themselves and can actually fly fast and outrun certain threats you wouldn’t expect them to. I miss the dove pair that kept visiting my backyard the whole winter for the food I put out. Now that springs around the corner and a lot of the snow has melted I haven’t seen the doves at all anymore, they used to love eating the food that dropped from my feeders. I can actually hear doves coo’ing not far from my house, that might be them, but it’s weird they don’t visit anymore since before they’d literally park their puffy selves on the ground under my feeder and snack on bird seed all day long during the winter. Is it maybe a common thing for doves to make themselves scarce/be stealthy in the spring and summer? Btw I love how I can always hear cardinals in your videos!

That seems unusual for Doves but most of our Doves aren't around too much in late spring and summer down in Florida. Yes the cardinals song is under-appreciated one of the best!

This is behavior I often see at my feeders from Red-Bellied Woodpeckers, except it's usually toward European Starlings. It's funny to see them hanging on to the side of a feeder like that with their beak open. Great capture!

I will take the doves anytime over the woodpecker. The woodpeckers are so destructive. I feed the doves every day. My front yard is usually full of them.

Fun video. What camera did you use to film that first segment through the blinds? The sputtery hiss generated by the camera makes it sound like it's a Nikon superzoom. Enjoy your videos, keep up the great work!

Those woodpeckers are a bit disagreeable, especially the female ones. I've had a male one in the yard all year, but now there is another one who is very loud and I keep trying to see if it is a female. I'm guess it must be because I doubt two males would tolerate each other in a small area.
