Beautiful. Have you ever considered, looking at the multicolored gliffs, by flickering fire or strobe light, at night? I heard that they move and tell a story. Makes sense to me. I'm so glad you are documenting these, before they are destroyed completely. There's tens of thousands of years of history that would not be told, if you didn't do this. Thank you ☺️! We spend hours, going through your videos, screenshots, and imagining the lives of these people. I can't get to these places anymore, but this gives me a chance to see what you see. There's another guy, putting sites on a VR program, so we can really explore. I can't wait to try it. Some of the mortors are sealed in. I'm wondering, if this is done on purpose, for storage through the winter or longer. I know they did seal stuff up.

Wonderful video Alex! I especially like your thoughts about the stage area towards the end of your story and reflections on the senseless vandalism that has occurred at the site. Your integration of the original pictograph images helps me to ponder their meaning, and at the same time, grieve for what has been lost to time and ignorance. These relics are treasures and irreplaceable, and it is my hope that this video will inspire respect and gratitude towards our collective national heritage when visiting ancient sites. Thanks for another great video! Bravo!

I've been out here a few times circa 1999-2003. I saw signs of recent destruction between two visits and the next time I was out they had installed a gate and required a reservation and a chaperone for visits. It's easy to see why. I don't understand the urge that people have to deface and destroy irreplaceable art and relics like this. It is just awful. I easily understand why those in the know keep the locations of other sites secret.

Wild speculation: If the "bunny man" petroglyph has hands, feet, etc described by circles, could this be related to the cupolas and their association to fertility?
Might the cupolas in turn be associated with the stars, which they resemble when filled with water reflecting the light of the night sky?

I just wanted to point out at the 7:00 mark that the upright salamander does have it's head and there is an eye on the left side you mistook it for it's tail and the other way to know the orientation is by how the legs/feet are oriented (elbows/knees backward as in that one shows the head is upward) as that lets you know which way they are facing. Great video as always.

The canyon walls are covered with thousands of petroglyphs and some pictographs too. There's also some granaries and remnants of pit houses. The area was settled by the Fremont Indians. The canyon is called the longest art gallery in the world.

Kimberly, there is some truth to the saying that we are all connected one way or another. As people migrated around the world they took with them the collective memory of the images from where they came from. Eventually, languages changed along with the memory of their past connection to each other, but the symbols remained. Also, many images are a result of cosmic events that could be seem by everyone. Anyway, this is a very general and simplistic overview, but there is a truth to it................................alex

Thank you for producing these videos...I recently moved back to Kern County in the San Joaquin Valley, and I have been wondering about some good historical places to go. Now I have some things on my list thanks to you.
One side note that we must think about: While we all abhor the destruction and mutilation of historic sites, in another 4,000 years, someone will find the carved-in initials of those who defaced these walls and consider it a historical find. I certainly don't condone or promote this destruction, but it's always about context and point of view as if something is destruction or a historical clue. For all we know, those who painted on these rocks were defiling a sacred place at the time, and now we hold the paintings in high regard. Sorry, I just like thinking that way.

Many pictographs are in caves and shelters which was also a place where campfires were built for cooking and warmth and these fires blackened the walls and ceilings with sooth. I do not recollect encountering pictographs during my treks and then forming an impression that they were purposefully burnt....................alex

The canyon which is actually a lot longer than 9 miles is covered with petroglyphs, and some pictographs. There's an alcove that use to be private property and there's some awesome red pictographs. Well the person that use to own the land painted no trespassing over the large red pictographs in big black letters. Its a total shame that he would ruin something so old and beautiful.

That looks like a classic image of a UFO to me. More and more is coming out about this. I'd recommend reading Pierre Sabak's "Holographic Culture." The Christian bible refers to these as "orphanim" - wheels. Wiki: "The ophanim, alternatively spelled or ofanim and also called galgalim, refer to the wheels seen in Ezekiel's vision of the chariot in Ezekiel 1:15-21. One of the Dead Sea scrolls construes them as angels; late sections of the Book of Enoch portray them as a class of celestial beings who never sleep, but guard the throne of God." These people were recording what they saw, which amazed them so much that they recorded them in the rocks. There's much, much more to this than spider webs, if you're willing to check the evidence and re-examine the contemporary biblical interpretations.

I love the content of your videos and appreciate the effort, but the camera work is often nausea inducing.

Please highlight and show your finds but please be vague about locations. A lot of people are concerned over these types of videos. You are showing the most sensitive areas left that haven’t been ruined to the general public who have little discernment over leaving trash and spray painting everything.
