@shashwat singh So far as your fifth point is concerned, I think Abhijit demonstrated the weaknesses with the J-20 which compromised with its supposed stealth ability. He did not say Tejas is doomed. He said it was too small in size to integrate all the modern electronics.

Thankyou Abhijit Iyer and Sanjay Dixit for educating people on the Fighter jet technology. I am an Indian born Canadian citizen and follow Indian Airforce closely for a very long time. A few comments on this presentation: 1) The F-35 is not a typical "aircraft". It is a platform for collecting and disseminating data, that at times acts as an aircraft. In that regard, India is not ready for it. As AIM explained the IAF is still very old fashioned. Too old for the F-35 2) AIM is a little behind on the Tesla front. Tesla is expected to go to Level 5 - full auto, without a steering wheel - by the end of this year 3) However, the USAF is ahead of Tesla when it comes to autonomous fighting capability. What AIM does not seem to be aware of is that about 10 years ago, a student from the Univ of Cincinnati, with the help of AFRL (Dayton) wrote code for autonomous flying. The AI-based code beat a ret USAF Col. in an F-15 100% of the time, in a simulator. Next year AFRL and DARPA will field two separate efforts to port similar code into actual F-16s that will fly against actual pilots in F-15s. The DARPA I know is NvN (at least 4v4), not sure of the AFRL effort. But, what is key is that there are two very similar, funded, efforts. One can afford to fail. That is what India needs to do 4) USAF should have a 6th Gen plane by decade end - deals with A2/AD with the stealth info on hand, nothing in addition 5) Very heavy use of AI and predictive modeling 6) As can be guessed the IAF is too far behind on all these matters

Excellent Video. He explains extraordinarily complex subjects in an easy way. Just one complementary information: For infrared search and track (IRST), Rafale uses “Optronique secteur frontal OSF” which is a very capable system second to none in the world. But, France is the only country with two major players (Safran and Thales) developing IRST solutions. What makes the difference is the quality of products and the quality of integration into Rafale. Love and support from France.
WE NEED THIS ECOSYSTEM JUST LIKE THE AMERICANS DID! I wish everyone who wishes the best for Indian army start to build or help build ecosystem that enables to reduce the civilian-military knowledge gap and give the correct information. Know exactly what brings impact to our army. I am a son of an IAF sergeant, it breaks me that if we put same level of effort that we put to discuss and compare our nation's military to foreign military then we would have had a fighter aircraft better than F-22. What most people here don't realize is that the India relies on human skills way too much while china relies on technology developed by civilians. While I don't wish to compare their civilians to ourselves(we are a democracy they are commies) I think we (myself very much included) have to be inquisitive about defense needs, skills that can actually make a product! We spend so much time on other people that it ends up costing our own development. And at times we justify this stupidity in someway or the other. And most times it costs us monetary opportunities as well, it's not that we are doing anything for free, are we?
When you listen to this no nothing fool his information comes of RUclips India has these anchors dragging and sinking, China has begged borrowed and leaped frogged their knowledge to compete with USA and Europe. India is not that hopeless as this person paints the picture.A retired experienced pilot should also have been invited to either accept or counter the narration to bring clear picture to viewers.A monologue can't be taken on its face value. Many peoples have their preferences and would follow that.In past many decisions were taken by governments of that time not necessarily on merits of defence equipments but all Indian airforce is useless as painted by mr Mitra is also doubtful

Abhishek Yadav what happened in Balakot was success story of IAF and helicopter that was shot down by our own missile was error on part of our air defence and a human error.50 year old aircraft shoots down F-16 or even J-17 much superior air craft which he says is doubtful though videography of incident shows two pilots in air descending .We may not believe in our politicians but the day one doubts defence forces he ceases to be Indian in some sense. Can't take him on face value discussion must involve some one from Air Force to respond .Any monologue without response from other party is of no use.In an earlier programme an airforce expert on this program had contradicted his views on numbers of aircrafts that china and India can deploy in event of some conflict so do u believe.Like in share market analysts have their interests and in defence analysts also have their interests too

Though some points are valid, one should also ask him how is it possible then to integrate the Brahmos on the Sukhoi ? It was test fired multiple times through the Sukhoi platform and either it was being fired by Lord Rama's bow or we were just stupified into believing that it was fired, because according to Abhijit since the systems don't talk to each other the entire platform is junk. Also we have test fired the Astra from the Sukhoi multiple times so that too must have been hurled like a Javelin because our systems refuse to talk to each other. Please be objective while making sweeping statements. I have read countless reports in American and European websites and nowhere is it mentioned that the Sukhoi -30 MKI is as junk as our armchair critic makes it out to be. The guy talks about the original Sukhoi being a better plane than the MKI due to its Russian avionics. Please give us a break from such utter bias . He then brushes aside a question on MIRV as Wikipedia gathered knowledge, unfortunately his own knowhow doesn't seem to be better. The same guy calls entire Chinese equipment junk but calls the Chinese rejected JF-17 a better plane than Tejas. On a question on the UTTAM AESA the guy had no clue and dismisses the entire attempt with his typical arrogant and condescending attitude. For his knowledge the Tejas MK1A would be equpiied with the Israeli ELTA AESA and the UTTAM is also under advanced stages of clearance. However how do you argue with a person who is biased and utterly one sided.
It is not possible to achieve seamless sensor fusion on the Su30mki with Israeli HUD , Russian N011M bars radar, Israeli Jamming Pod. Each of the systems will work independently of each other and this is not ideal for situational awareness and wartime scenarios. The R77 BVRAM issues were well known, so India was forced to make the Astra work. India was not allowed to integrate Israeli iDerby, Python missiles as Russia did not want to share the source code. India had earlier tried even the Meteor and Scalp to work with Su30mki but Russia would not allow. The Brahmos is based on the Russian Oniks missile so it will work on the Sukhoi. In a way IAF was forced to fast track Rafale to overcome many of the shortcomings of the Su30mki.
Brahmos has been integrated by the Russians, astra as well.... You remember, few months ago drdo decided to integrate something in the su30mki on their own because the Russians asked a lot for it... Then Russians said to drdo, integrate yourself but if there is any compromise in performance of the aircraft after the upgradation then don't come to us for servicing... And then drdo didn't have the balls to do that upgrade😂...
Very informative - never mind the coordination- it makes the discussion real time - you don’t have to artificially make it perfect - content and research is good. As for challenging the Air Force technically- it is a welcome trend. No one is perfect. Air Force has a lot of improvement to do and if someone is challenging them with facts and research it is a good thing . I am not saying that this discussion necessarily is at a that level - but in general it should be welcome.
The largest improvements that are feasible for the IAF would be giving them hundreds of Rafale and over a hundred Advanced Hawk trainers. Widespread operational experience with Rafale would provide institutional knowledge in operating more modern fighter aircraft and this would shift individual perceptions about what is needed and how to use modern systems effecitvely. Using current Hawk 132 instead of Kiran or Sitara and then Advanced Hawk would provide much better trainining capabilities for incoming pilots and allow them to start at a higher level before they even sit in a modern fighter aircraft.
i agree with you that IAF needs to accept technical inputs from outsiders, but the outsider must be someone with technical or strategic knowhow, this guy has his expertise in geopolitics and is bloody good at it, but he falls face first here limited to reading wiki.
@@chinmaysharma9213 He makes many errors in technical details. But some of his more general assesments are pretty close to correct. Abhijit- Saw the video this morning. Most of it excellent stuff. Had a few comments . 1) Kill ratios in Korea were greatly in favor of the Western Powers. However with the development of the A to A Missiles USA wrongly came to the conclusion that dog fighting was out dated. They faced very adverse kill ratios in the initial years of Vietnam war which they subsequently corrected with the Top Gun ( Navy ) and the Red Flag ( Airforce ) programs. 2) While electronics ( chaffs, flares & ECM) is very important even in BVR combat maneuverability plays a big role. Locks of active radar homing missiles , working on lead pursuit, can be broken by cranking and notching. 3) I thinks the Americans got it right with F22 where they found an excellent compromise between stealth and maneuverability. The life of F35 is only till near peer adversaries come up with equally stealthy but more maneuverable aircraft. With neither aircraft sensors able to get a lock on the other the out come will be decided by dogfight with guns. Long Live Major John Boyd and Maneuverability Regards- Amit

Very knowledgeable..Great insight about advanced avionics fighter planes comparison study etc, I really hope Indian military department pay close attention to some of the points raised here and study these observations !
A few comments on this presentation:
1) The F-35 is not a typical "aircraft". It is a platform for collecting and disseminating data, that at times acts as an aircraft. In that regard, India is not ready for it. As AIM explained the IAF is still very old fashioned. Too old for the F-35
2) AIM is a little behind on the Tesla front. Tesla is expected to go to Level 5 - full auto, without a steering wheel - by the end of this year
3) However, the USAF is ahead of Tesla when it comes to autonomous fighting capability.
That is what India needs to do
4) USAF should have a 6th Gen plane by decade end - deals with A2/AD with the stealth info on hand, nothing in addition
5) Very heavy use of AI and predictive modeling
6) As can be guessed the IAF is too far behind on all these matters

WE NEED THIS ECOSYSTEM JUST LIKE THE AMERICANS DID!
I wish everyone who wishes the best for Indian army start to build or help build ecosystem that enables to reduce the civilian-military
knowledge gap and give the correct information. Know exactly what brings impact to our army.
I am a son of an IAF sergeant, it breaks me that if we put same level of effort that we put
to discuss and compare our nation's military to foreign military then we would have had a fighter aircraft better than F-22.
What most people here don't realize is that the India relies on human skills way too much while china relies on technology developed
by civilians. While I don't wish to compare their civilians to ourselves(we are a democracy they are commies) I think we (myself very much
included) have to be inquisitive about defense needs, skills that can actually make a product!
We spend so much time on other people that it ends up costing our own development. And at times we justify this stupidity in someway or the other.
And most times it costs us monetary opportunities as well, it's not that we are doing anything for free, are we?

India is not that hopeless as this person paints the picture.A retired experienced pilot should also have been invited to either accept or counter the narration to bring clear picture to viewers.A monologue can't be taken on its face value. Many peoples have their preferences and would follow that.In past many decisions were taken by governments of that time not necessarily on merits of defence equipments but all Indian airforce is useless as painted by mr Mitra is also doubtful
@@ratankaramchandani329 well even if we assume there are some valid arguments against abhijit. It's not like he is entirely wrong. You did see what happened after balakot strike we shot down our own helicopter. And if you are following defense upgradation closely you will see that how much they change things.. And about Rafale deal costing 30 billion. He is damn right. Look at Japan US f35 deal. It is costing Japan 23 billion for 105 aircraft being Japan was a part Of F35 program.

He said the Su-30 is a fine plane. It is the Indian add-ons that have messed it up not the Russian avionics.
He himself said Israeli radar r better but jf17 is better than tejas 🤣🤣..he is stoned!
@@rgautam3285 Yes Because a fighter plane is not just a flying radar. Don't be this stupid.
Better than the common self delusion found among the public and media in India, greatly overestimating current domestic capabilities. India should be more open to pessimistic views and criticisms, in order to make honest evaluations and make appropriate decisions.
@@stupidburp Oh i am no fan of Indian media, just look at how overboard they went with raffael. I think we should be open to critical views and the IAF is, it regularly interacts with other airforces to see what they are doing right.
Fine explanation
Long Live Major John Boyd and Maneuverability

Loved it Sanjay sir I want to learn from prof abhijit
Na sir hai na pair hai aur demak toh kabhi tah hi nahin....What a fantastic way to describe Abhijit Iyer Mitra by Defence Matrix 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
In which episode he tells?
Bohot boomer wali feelling aayi hogi Dixit ji ko😂😂😂
Well.. that was a typical statement...most technologies he talked about were pioneered by so called boomers ! And I'm.sure ur typically millianial
! .. one who just wanna say stuff but know nothing! And don't worry I'm not boomer nor millianial either
Mr Iyer is brilliant. The govt should listen to his viewpoint. I am not saying they should not listen to others. He is absolutely right about the F21. India should grab the offer. That is how you build a manufacturing ecosystem in the country.
One of my frnds explained me his first flight experience as this: bhaaai jet engine ki awaaz sunke he lag gaya ki India 15-20 saal tak to koi dhang ka jet engine nhi bana payga...saaalaa kya axeleration..12 secnd me 200 ton k plane ko hawa me uda diya......or throttling up ki sound to...itna josh deti hai...k depression ka mareej theek ho jaye....do din tak to engine ki sound or uske fans he ghumte rahe bheeje me....😱
There are LESS number of countries that make proper jet engines, than ones having Nuclear Bomb or Rockets.
Even lesser ones build Commercial Jet engine. The ones who make, have been making planes since World War - I.
Got got the amount of R&D requires ?
Abhijit has made many good points especially on the electronic warfare. India must select rafeal in MMRCA because they have already bought 36 of them. Why take some other jet again?
Main advantage of Bharat over China is for China is just land n for Bharat is defending mother land.
