    It is real that we are limited only by imagination in this future we are living.
    I know nothing about music theory yet I can make an entire track playing just ONE note/chord because my ear is so sensible and trained I can easily create harmonies and make music work and desirable.
    Now that I know this thing exist I can put myself to work and go bonkers with experimental stuff. Latest VST I knew like this one is “ The Mouth “ by Native Instruments but it’s more like a synthy-vocoder not a Mic Controller.
    This is AWESOME.

    I've been thinking about this for decades and using it in Ableton (don't know what DAW you use) since Ableton came out with audio to MIDI. A tip for anyone trying this - HUMMING works really well and SELDOM delivers false notes.
    I just watched another review of Dubler by a very good, trained classical musician and this person said that Ableton does much the same thing.
    What's your opinion? Dubler might get monthly software upgrades to eliminate things like its slight latency and also updates might improve voice recognition. Ableton will not. Do you think this does the same thing Ableton has done for years enough 'better,' to justify the outlay? (In this case the cost is pretty low for Dubler but no need buying something unless it's WAY ahead of Ableton.)
    Thanks.

    • @SweetScaleTV
      @SweetScaleTV  4 года назад +2

      I think Ableton is a beast but not everyone uses Ableton right? so this a good option for ppl that done use Ableton

      When covid chills a bit, get out there and make some bank bro. It feels like it doesn't add up to much at first but getting a job and doing it for a while will net you enough over a month or so to comfortably afford this and more music gear.
      If you have a computer/laptop, take a look at Reaper. That's a piece of kit that's free to use, like Ableton or Logic, and can be just as powerful once you get to know it. Learn about MIDI, how it works, how to use it, etc.
      You can get started with musical ideas there. It'll be slow to start for sure, but you can slowly build it up and get used to the basics and all that.
      If you're still at school, head to the music department and talk to some of the students/teachers there, see if there's any tips, tricks, discounts on gear, etc. that they know about in the area. Find some resources in your local library to study some basic music theory, and dive into how sound and music actually works. Then, you can start writing your ideas down with just some paper and a pencil.
      You can channel that creativity for all the melodies you create if you want - it'll be hard yards, but I believe in you. If I can manage to pick it up, anyone can. Godspeed man.

    Your channel has star potential, but never forget there is a fine line between reviews and ads...you and your subscribers will have to find the balance.
    Old heads know audio to midi has always been the holy grail, and there have been audio to midi software and plugins for 15+ years. Problem is they are extremely sensitive to vocal types and intonation. So you have to learn to sing the way each software wants you to. Also, they are very ineffective for velocity without a breath sensor. The end result is that none of them track that well. So you have to mess around in the piano roll deleting notes, changing note length, and creating velocity curves. This all adds up to a significant amount of time. Uintuitively, most people find its usually actually faster to transcribe whats in ur head manually, and learn to play it with ur fingers. It is rarely the immediacy that people think its going to be.
    They bundled the software with hardware to prevent piracy, which I can understand, ..but unfortunately, that also means you cant demo. So before people go plunking 300 bills down, ur best bet is to demo all the leading audio to midi software and plugins first, to familiarize yourself with the limitations and workflow. Especially if they don't offer returns.

      A relative loaned me a product named Breakaway Vocalizer 1000 in 1992 . It was a hardware pitch to audio unit & had midi in & out. I was scratching a tone signal on my turntables to play synth pads in real time .That unit was very accurate & impressive .
      .
      These new products are great but I think the best results are when you hum. I would love to compare them to see how far we progressed. I agree that its faster to simply create the beats & sounds on your controller ..

    I’m a gear junkie. Bought this as soon as I clicked the video. Honestly seems like a waste of $$ to me personally. If you don’t hold your note perfectly it always adds in other notes you don’t want.
    Also by the time you finally get the melody by singing it, you could have just figured it out on your keyboard 10 times faster.
    Good idea in theory, but in reality it wouldn’t be something you use seriously. Maybe just to fave fun once in a while you dust it off.

      I hear you Daniel.. I had a lot of fun with it... whatever helps you create music!! sometimes fun is what you need.. But i really like the controller!! thanks for sharing your thoughts!!

      Same sentiment. It's a fun toy, but don't really maintain itself as a real piece of kit right now. Anything I try to bang out sounds wonky, so I end up using my fingertips instead. Happy to support the business because of how cutting edge it is, but they need to put in more work.

      I had the same experience. I asked for a refund to send it back but they said I was past the 30 day mark already. I had literally had it in my possession for 1 week. But it had been a month and half from my purchase date before I actually received the mic to try it out. They reached out and said they would setup a Zoom meeting and stuff to help me but I've already played with it enough to know that I'd rather have a different midi controller. I'd recommend going with imitone instead (it's cheaper and better in my opinion). You can't beat box triggers quite yet, but I hear that's coming...

      Plus most sequencers have an audio-to-MIDI function that most people never use! Granted, you have to record to audio and then convert the clip whereas this is live, but still: a lot of people replying could be doing this right now

      @@joechapman8208 what's the name of the sequencer that does that bro

    • @joechapman8208
      @joechapman8208 4 года назад

      @@Freeloops-rl2xz Ableton Live definitely does it, but others do as well (Cubase has Extract MIDI inside VariAudio>Pitch & Warp, if I remember rightly, and there's a method in Cakewalk, Logic has Flex Pro). But you could use Melodyne in any sequencer to analyse audio and extract MIDI too, even if there isn't a function native to the DAW

      Melodyne is boring and not as dynamic tho? And it's not real time, it's a post processing thing (correct me if I'm wrong)
