DRONE: 1 Ukrainian tank ambushes at least 8 Russian tanks

- Footage captured by a Ukrainian military drone shows a Ukrainian tank carrying out an ambush on a Russian column as it moved through Nova Basan, east of Kyiv, which was recaptured by Ukrainian forces on April 1.
Much of battle to retake the town took place on March 31 and involved members of the Dmytro Korchynsky Brotherhood Battalion, or the Bratstvo (Brotherhood) Battalion, which released this footage on April 5 with Russian and Ukrainian flag images added over the vehicles. At least eight vehicles are marked Russian and just one is marked Ukrainian.
Following the attack, images of damaged and burned-out Russian vehicles littering the town were posted online by residents, photographers traveling with the Bratstvo Battalion, and by Ukrainian reporters who visited Nova Basan after the Russian withdrawal.
The Bratstvo Battalion was formed on February 24 by Dmytro Korchynsky, a fringe political figure and writer based in Kyiv. His Bratstvo political party has been described as an ultranationalist Orthodox Christian organization, according to a profile published by The Intercept in 2015. In a video announcing the formation of the battalion, Korchynsky said it was accepting recruits “to participate in the defense of Ukraine.”
Traveling with Bratstvo Battalion was Oleksiy Seredyuk, an activist running Korchynsky’s online media arm, World Bratstvo TV, and who was documenting the battalion’s activities.
On March 31, Seredyuk posted a video of troops being welcomed by residents of Nova Basan as they entered the town on foot. Walking alongside Seredyuk in that video, and several others he has posted on social media during the conflict, was Vita Zavirukha, an ultranationalist female soldier known in Ukraine for her high-profile involvement in neo-Nazi groups.
Zavirukha gained notoriety in 2016 she was tried for involvement in the killing of three police officers.
BTR is definitely not a tank, but regardless, the Ukrainian tank commander took a textbook spot for an ambush. I'm quite surprised how disorganized such a large army is... Surveillance would have spotted that Ukrainian tank. It's good for the Ukrainian army but there seems to be little intelligence on the Russian side, this is a perfect example. We live in an age where satellites can pinpoint a fly on a toilet and these guys are clearly fighting with the amount of intelligence the Soviet Union had in WWII. Ukrainians are obviously getting intelligence from somewhere and they make 1 tank feel like 10 which is done by knowing movements and textbook positioning.
At this point it aught to be embarrassing for Putin.

@@shinji1264 if you pause at 0:09 it gives you a wide view. In relation to the direction of the turret, on the tank's left flank it has a barn providing protection and concealment, on the other side of the barn there is a lot of trees between it and the road. The tank commander has chosen a slim corridor to shoot preventing it from being exposed until it has a shot.
At 0:09 after its second shot the only vehicle that can see it is the leading vehicle which is way down the road looking the opposite way. Before the tank shot the only way the Russians could know the tank is there is intelligence/reconnaissance as there is no visual of the tank until the tank has a shot on them. Textbook ambush.
The position the tank commander chose here provides protection, concealment and a firing corridor on the right side or back of the vehicle. This pre-planning obviously only works if you know which way they are coming from, when they are coming and how many.
In contrast, if Russians had a drone or a reconnaissance group that spotted it they could have flushed out the tank with mortars or artillery then moved in to destroy it, or air strike.

Newer generations have no idea how amazing this footage actually is for many many reasons. Its a first of its kind on so many levels.
Video drones up until this war have only been used by 3rd world counties, mostly in the middle east. While the footage was impressive it wasn't tanks or massive military powers but just a car bomb or a little explosive dropped on house.
Another reason is when massive military powers do fights it was only from the footage of a helicopter super far away and was always black and white, not 1080HD and in color just a 100 yards away from the battle.
To see actually tanks fighting each other like this is unprecedented and has never been seen before in such great detail and proximity.

You can see how the Russian infantry is trying to find cover while the apc column is laying down suppressing fire for them.
I don't get why one of the first Russian tanks shot at there didn't radio in for an airstrike or do something...

Honestly I don't understand why they haven't switched to using any dirt bikes or any 4 wheelers since their roads are all damaged by the tanks they could go in & out of sight counter attacks on the Russians they wouldn't know what to do but to retreat & no more of letting them go because it's obvious they don't care about innocent people who get killed riding a bike or even walking away from them!

Less armor, has autocannon firing ammunition less powerful than a full on tank round, and can carry many more people than a tank. It's meant to bring soldiers to the front line and support them while there.

The real war isn't in the north, it's in the east. While the main battle to encircle the Ukraine army hasn't started yet, and probably won't until the Russians reset their forces, so far the Russians are winning the war in the east. The battle for Izyum was the most important action of the war so far, Kiev was really a side show. A very costly one, but not significant to their goal of gaining territory. They never should have been in the north in the first place, Putin's fault for that one, and his commanders for being totally inept in trying to pull it off.

According to video description, several Russian vehicles including one tank was knocked out by the Brotherhood Battalion. Remember this is just a short clip and represent in no way the entire ambush and the following liberation of the town.

Why not read the video description before speculating? it clearly says the Dmytro Korchynsky Brotherhood Battalion successfully liberated town after ambushing an Russian armed column. The tank wasn't alone it had support of hundreds of soldiers. Other articles and photos support the events of Nova Basan.

Citizens are dying every day in Ukraine. Is there any value in their lives? Appears not, in how the United States, Europe, and NATO are acting. Those lives are of more value than any sanctions, or diplomatic effort offers. Time has passed for diplomacy to stop this. It takes hard core on the ground effort, and most of all, a mass immediate transport of military equipment by the Western World Leadership, which includes the United States. Stop talking, discussing and planning. That phase should be over by now. EXECUTION NEEDED! A failure of this generation's politicians will be written in history as a complete world failure, should Putin get what he wants.
You cannot sit there and just offer condolences to Ukraine. The United States, NATO and every other democracy around the world needs to unite and end this once and for all. Forget NATO. Stop being so bureaucratic and procedural. Delays, delays, delays. The help the democratic world has offered to this point is embarrassing.
Ukraine is a country on the road to Democracy, and a freedom loving country. They are your brothers and sisters like no other. Under God we are all people together on this earth. Humanity has a responsibility to end the evil of Russia's aggression. Take the titles of organizations out of the picture. Come together, at one of Russia's weakest moments and solve this problem. Else, all the leadership that the world has is useless. You serve no purpose, if you can't act when the world needs it.
This invasion should be reversed all the way back to Moscow, and not only Ukraine's responsibility. It is a democracy responsibility. Take this all the way back to Putin's doorstep and his military. The Democratic world has the means to see this never happens again. Just trying to convince Putin to stop with sanctions is not enough. If, you succeeded, it would only put Russia back in their box for a while. Once again, in our generation, or your children's generation would have to deal with genocide AGAIN.
There needs to be a D-Day in Europe with every democratic nation to clear this up once and for all. A successful campaign in Russia would have China stand up and notice. I doubt China would be so aggressive to take on the world. If Europe and the United States fail to take this opportunity, there will be a much tougher and stronger alliance with the minimum of China, and Russia as partners, and other nations that would join them.
The weapons of the world are getting more destructive with each year. We have an opportunity right now in the weakness of Putin's military and lack of equipment, and parts. Much of their equipment has been destroyed in Ukraine, and they have few parts to make their other equipment work. There is no greater time to hold Russia accountable to the world. In spite of all the war crimes, there will be little directly the world can do, even if there are court trials. They represent formal objections, which will lead to minimal punishment.
In a world 200 - 300 years ago I could understand the barbaric aggression of nation's armies. But today, I fail to understand why the world stands by and watches this happen. There should be "ZERO TOLERANCE" for any nation to invade in a destructive manor as the Russians are doing. The world alliance needs to stand up and act like a swat team that stops this aggression and forbid any nation to invade another. I can't believe all Democratic nations don't have the power together to stomp this fire out.
I watch every day, how Ukrainian people struggle to fight against Russia, all alone. Equipment is not enough. We need "Solidarity!" If the free world does not act, it is just a matter of time before all free countries are lost.

Regardless if there is tanks or not, the fact is that this one lone Ukrainian Tank somehow remained in hiding and shooting at them after the convoy just quickly gets shot at and continues running.
And there's like 50-70 men in and around their APCs and/or a Tank or two, versus 1 tank crew out there.
