Thanks for sharing your experience! I agree with the points you raised. There was a full time trading session that I attended with one of the local securities firms - I asked the presenter how much money I needed to be able to trade full time, and he said 50K. I did my sums just like you did, and reckoned that the returns on 50K is just not enough to feed me, let alone feed my family. Also wih so much at stake, my emotions will cloud my judgment. That was why I stuck on with my job and traded part time. No regrets and less stress - because I don't have to monitor the screen like a hawk as I have a more stable source of income

I think the first mistake (inconsistent actions) wasn't a mistake, unless it produced inconsistent results. If you're trading many different strategies (inconsistent actions), but you're trading each strategy well (consistent results), what's the problem? It does make sense for a beginner to focus on one thing at a time, though, to become really efficient in a given strategy. If you're going to try everything that you read about, you may become overwhelmed and unfocused, and you'll probably have less time to devote to trying to improve a given strategy.
Hi Rayner, Can you please share your excel sheet you are using for backtesting? This would be very useful to many of us! Keep up the good work!
One point: If you are going to trade the higher time frames, you should learn swing trading strategies instead of day trading. Also the indicators on the higher time frames are much more accurate so less risky.

In my opinion I think it’s very important to understand the concept. The indicator are not important if you have no idea of why you use them (concept.) however, once you understand the concept very well the strategy becomes more important to get down packed until you fully (85%) understand what’s going on.. also you should be psychologically l disciplined to follow the strategy. What I’m saying is once you understand the concept then you can currently develop a strategy that works for you. Happy pips!

Hello Rayner, pls help clear my confusion. Ur rules for long in 12.00 and for short in 13.41 seems to negate the general rule for buying low and selling high. Pls help clarify my confusion here. I've always known to buy when the currency pair price is lowest and sell when the currency pair price is highest. Thanks my Easypeasy tutor.
Favorited as I've done both to some degrees and always found reinjecting more capital from other jobs is the best way forward and eases the pain from being stopped out or taking small losses when a reinjection of funds just broke it even.

I love these videos and have watched at least 30 in the last 6 months, however, in your video you mention that you started with $50,000 capital from savings and family assistance, but in your spreadsheet the capital is listed at $1,000,000. You also mention that your aspirations were aimed at your first year's returns of 40%+, however, the date on your spreadsheet shows a 9.5% increase (still, bravo...very well done). based on the info in that spreadsheet it also shows a median over the last 18 years of 11%+ (also, fantastically done).
My point being, I hope that beginning traders aren't taking the statistics as a way to get rich quick. I know there are millions of surfers out there lookin for those strategies. From watching @Rayner Teo 's videos, that isn't what you'll get. Sorry to be the stickler of the comments but I felt like I should clarify the information being thrown around for the sake of your content's delivery
Teo please share a strategy that works in real market... I ve been doin my money management and risk management but don't ve good strategy to catch 60% win. Please help.
