Might as well be Prince Charles compared to anyone from Paisley. Only accent I've ever just shrugged and went okay, still have no clue after 5 mins of intense effort. This lad is crystal clear. Besides, West of Ireland needs no words.
I've caught mullet off those Piers in the summer, using thawed out mackerel and a bubble float. With around a size 12 hooks, fleurocarbon.... just casting by sight and sink and draw. Using a John Wilson Avon quiver rod. Great sport too. Well done 👍
We’d call the bigger of what you caught panfish here in the states, because they just fit in small frying pan, when I come over to visit my relatives,I’m thinking of renting a camper van and buying some fishing gear and go for a tour of Ireland, catch some fish and cook them up , I went to culinary school so think cooking fish should be easy
Try find someone to buddy up with to start. Piers and jettys to begin with and familiarise yourself with methods/techniques etc. Have fun and stay safe. Dont spend much on gear to start off. It becomes addictive
Great fishing. That was a Pouting you caught earlier on. I don't think it's a great idea to show the location so clearly as you might find the kill everything brigade will show up. The wrasse won't be so plentiful then! They don't cope well with heavy angling pressure. Up to you of course. But if it was one of my fishing spots I wouldn't be pleased? Great video otherwise.
Appreciate and understand your comment pal. 👌 hence why I haven’t named any locations to anyone in any comments and never tell anyone where I fish, only the locals will recognize these spots. ☺️👌 these hidden gems are for people to find for themselves, I never give out that information ☺️
Hi Senanayake I was down at that pier last weekend well I’m there most weekends over the summer but would you believe we where catching wrease on normal earth worms I couldn’t believe it it was a older wiser man that told me about it I was in shock it worked a charm caught load even a few very small pollock / colley
Thanks dude, love the sea fishing, it’s about a 2 hour drive for me so I don’t get to do it very often, but make the most of it when the weathers good 👌🎣
Absolutely smashing vid mate, just a wee tip for when your digging worm next time bring two buckets and separate then cause the rag will kill off the lug very fast and they’ll go to shit then but keep up the good work
Oh I noticed that for sure 😁 luckily the wrasse are not fussy at all, they were on the dead worms in seconds, it’s more so the scent that they are after ☺️
Thanks man, it’s a class little adventure to do every now and again 👌 these were my light rods so on the smaller one it’s 0.07 spider wire (13lb braid) and on the medium lure rod I had 20lb braid 🎣
Predominantly I only fish for pike but would love to do some sea fishing this summer and would love to catch a Sea Bass or Sea Trout - Any tips on locations in Sligo buddy?
Thanks bud. Usually get the rag close too the inside of the harbours they like that gravely silt bottom , the big rag can pinch alright, haven’t gotten me yet tho 😂👌
Nice day fishing. There is no license required to dig for lug? Have you ever tried the pier of Enniscrone in the north west? Most other spots are a bit far away for me.
This has always been one of my favourite spots for a bit of fun with the kids before the mackerel come in. But it seems this video has put the word out, 2 lads on Monday last landed about 25 and kept them all, two more Ukrainians there yesterday.. keeping everything they caught. Doubt there's an infinite supply of these great fish.. soon there won't be any. Sad.
My video has nothing got to do with people fishing this spot, Europeans have been fishing this spot for years and keeping fish, blaming my video where I didn’t once mention where I was, is absolute nonsense. I’m looking out to sea and fishing off the coast of Ireland. If anyone knows any of the spots, thats from their own hard work on fishing the places which are absolutely free to fish for everyone , nothing got to do with me.
Get inside or slightly outside any of the harbours and piers when the tides out, there’s rag around the dark sandy patches, the lug will be more so in the beaches along the tide line.
@@senanstanleyfishing this crap must stop where the inspectors for this ussless things ? ohh probably they get money and sitting in coffie shop any way thats not good at all if you like me comment like up this video and maybe we will stop this crap at all around the Ireland folks
@@senanstanleyfishing Considering that it is not my native language, (I am from Spain) I generally find it very difficult to understand English from Ireland and Scotland.
He’s speaking English, his accent isn’t that hard to understand, but well it isn’t for me ,but me ma was from the north of Ireland,I’m an American, she was a war bride.
If your having a hard time understanding an Irishman speaking English…. Then try to listen to a Liverpudlian ( scouser!), or a east londonien ( cockney!), speaking THEIR OWN language !
Loved that video Senan, beautiful fish..loved the Conger and Pollack especially.
Thanks Kieran! Looking forward to getting back out on Derg but the sea Fishing is great fun in the summer 🎣👌
@@senanstanleyfishing I'm hitting alot of blanks at moment on Derg,Senan..going wrong somewhere😥

Them mullet are powerful fish! I’m over in Italy at the minute, they are everywhere in the marinas, very big ones also 😅👍
Planning a mission to the coast with my Dad. Playing this as moto brother!!!
Now is the time to go ☺️👌
@senanstanleyfishing Oh yeah. We gonna Get Some.
Been at the LRF since you replied to the last comment. Amazing fun, falling in love with fishing all over again now. Thanks our fella!
Love to hear it 👌🙌 that’s what it’s all about 🙌

Great catches !

I’ll be visiting Ireland and Scotland next August. Do you think these fish could be caught with a fly rod?
Nice one mate

Good stuff 💪 the wrasse will feed on nearly anything, you’d be surprised- anything with a scent, or even a plain lure like you’d use for perch 💪👌
Class vid senan love the sea fishing vids

Have a look at an American bass fishing channel called Ayo.
Might be helpful. Be well.
Thanks Robert I’ve actually watched loads of his videos , he is very entertaining 👌

I wish I could help you with that but I haven’t been lucky enough to fish in Sligo yet! 😁👌 might take a trip up the coast this summer for them 👍
Can you find these worms on every beach in ireland or only some?
Great vid as always. Do you find the rag worm in the same place as the lug worms? And do they bite? Not sure where I heard that before
Thanks bud. Usually get the rag close too the inside of the harbours they like that gravely silt bottom , the big rag can pinch alright, haven’t gotten me yet tho 😂👌

There’s no license required to dig worms pal, I haven’t tried that spot no I’d be a bit further south. ☺️🎣 thanks for watching 💪
What rod and reel are you using?
Is that lidl shrimp?
Yes 👍
Great ! Can i use feathers with shrimp bait , will that do ?
I would use smaller hooks 👌
Where did you catch pollack fish ? Where did you were ? Could you please give location information? Thank you.
Sorry I can’t give exact location.

Any good spots around cork for lug or rag bud?
Get inside or slightly outside any of the harbours and piers when the tides out, there’s rag around the dark sandy patches, the lug will be more so in the beaches along the tide line.
Is that what the locals use or did you choose to use bait just to mix up the content?
Ya I usually only use lures or flies when fishing, just used bait for a change for a bit of fun ☺️
Camera type, please?
You digging wrong im sorry. I was a pro digger on em the wash estuary. Average count 1000 in 4 hours. Flick the clods mate
Thanks dude, I didn’t care what the conditions were like as I was only using them for wrasse, and they really are not fussy ☺️👌
Class video
Thanks for watching bud 🎣
Where did he oil slick come from
One of the fishing boats came in from a trip and it came off that 👎
Nice oil leaks 😮 17:18 ffs
Yep, coming off the fishing trawlers on the pier. Every single harbour is the same even on freshwater , unfortunately.
