The song is about a teenage girl going out with her boyfriend. Her mom says "You better be home before the morning" Then describes the evening. They start at the Honky Tonk (club) but that's not what they're looking for. So, they go down and park by the creek and sit back and listen to George Strait and dance cheek to cheek. They do this from 10-midnight. At midnight, they start the "hard romancing" at 1 AM the truck is still rocking. At 2 AM they're still going at it. They finally stop long enough to check the clock at 3 AM. Then at 4 AM they decide to start heading home. By 5 AM she's finally home, but the sun is coming up because the rooster's crowing.
Last verse: 6 PM Saturday, the girl is grounded, she's done all of her chores, and her man pulls up long enough for her to jump in the truck despite being grounded and they take off again.

If only you could see the concert where he literally FLEW across the entire stadium, all the way up to the top rows at the back just so he could hang there and sing to his fans in the nosebleeds! He was the first to ever do anything crazy like that. And when the wires brought him back near the stage, he starts flipping upside down in those wires...he had the CRAZIEST concerts back in the day. LOL! Unfortunately those concerts aren't available on RUclips. If anyone knows how to get a hold of them, let us know!

Years ago my eldest daughter spent overnight lying on the ground in line get tickets for my birthday. He was stupendous. Crazy concert, he was swinging around; shooting T shirts to the crowd; spraying water around. He was the biggest country singer. Loved it so much!!!!

I used this song as a breathe exercise when I was singing 😁
OK, so the young girl is going out with her boyfriend and her parents dont know until she is leaving in his truck, then they go party all night long and the boy brings her back at dawn. The parents ground her, but she gets her chores done and the boyfriend comes over and picks her up and they go out again. It was kind of a style that country music went through with the super fast songs to get people dancing and having fun.
I love that you can appreciate so many different genres, it shows how open minded you are. I recommend you listen to his duets with Trisha Yearwood. In the course of recording songs, they fell in love and got married. They're still married today!
