    The thing with Filipinos in general, when you show us respect and love, we give it back. We do not discriminate a whole race based on mere stereotypes. You show us respect, we give it back to you. As simple as that. We definitely respect our elders and the elderly and women are old fashioned to some respect. I myself believe in a patriarchal society but that doesn't make us weak because of that mentality. Men to me, are supposed to make a living, while women should help raise the children and the household but it doesn't mean we have to quit our jobs to serve our husband hand and foot. We value our independence also. So balance is key... . This has been a very interesting interview. I enjoyed watching it..

      Jenny, your perspective is right on! Quite honest and intelligent. "Balance" is the key.

    • @chaz3257
      @chaz3257 2 года назад

      @Jenny - That's Not 🚫 totally True! Respect!🙄 It has nothing to do with that because many that are respectful to Filipino are treated poorly just like many Filipino abroad in the middle east or other countries may be being treated poorly by the locals there despite their respecting them to the highest degree. Everyone on these vlogs wants to make Filipino As a Whole seem flawless and words like "Honest" and "Hardworking" are used, what a JoKe 🤣🤣🤣 are most Taxi driver's in Manila not Filipino? Are Carpenters not Filipino? There are people that do wrong everywhere including the Philippines. All one must do is really be Truthful about the injustice discrimination and hatred that goes on in many places in the world and especially as well in the Philippines. Respect is always a word used that even many racist have used currently and in years past. Say that you personally haven't experienced it doesn't mean it's not happening! And yes i know of experiences of what some might call less fortunate Filipino that have been discriminated against by other Filipino! Two many examples to list here, many that are personal!

    • @chaz3257
      @chaz3257 2 года назад

      @Jenny - Generally speaking I agree with your statement about your respecting your Filipino elders! But Not 🚫 all elders especially those that are Foreigners and definitely not those of a darker complexion especially Africans and maybe Indians as well.

    As far as I can remember, when there is a visitor in our house, my late grandma always tells me to buy a soft drink and some bread to offer to the visitor. When we are broke, we just buy some bread and mix some orange juice powder on cold water then serve it to the visitor. When some stranger who comes from manila or somewhere wants to use our toilet, we always let them use it. I live now in the middle east with my family and I feel nostalgic

He encourage other expats to come to the philippines to grab as many women as they can. Borderlime predator, bragging how many filipina he slept with or dated. He cant do that in the US so he goes to the philippines preying on poor gullible women.

Also, once you get to P.I network with like minded business people as they have tons of ideas to share, P.I is active and has great support for small biz operators, the gov't runs a qtr biz faire in and around the islands called "NEGOSIO" the helps new biz enterpreuners hit the ground running. For you look like you are still along ways from collecting SS so you definitely need to get a biz going in order to survive there unless you have $$$ reserved to last till you get to 62 yrs old. I hear a lot of people here talking about racism in the country where they're from and why they would like to move to the Philippines. I get that. I'm Filipino American living in San Diego California. have i experienced racism here in the US? Yes i have. Did it stop me from living my life? Hell no. Fight back. Don't let anyone step on you. You see the problem nowadays is people all over the world especially in highly industrialized countries like the West( US, Canada, Australia, UK, Europe, etc) is that everyone is so highly sensitive, underinformed and is full of hatred. Both sides of the political spectrum are no longer listening to each other and both are so manipulative. I blame the media and the governments for this.

    I have the rest of my life to choose whether I want to live in America or the Philippines I'm only 27 but so far I love it here in the United States of America and good old Sweet Home Alabama...... It takes a lot to move to a whole another country that you can't protect yourself in but I don't discourage anybody else that decides to do that I just don't know if I'm ready for that yet... But I'll be there to visit in July to see my girl friend

    So many Americans cannot live with their Social Security income in the U.S. when they retire. A very sad truth. Filipinos whose income come from SS usually go back to the Philippines when they retire.

    Most Filipinos go to other country to look for a job. But at the end of their career or retirement, most Filipinos do come back home for good, with all the money saved for retirement.

    Foreigners are welcome in the philippnes any time you want to visit or live cuz the living expenses is not that higher as foreign countries...and you can afford to buy house and lot, you can run your own business if u want to...but remember you should follow our cultures, rules and regulations and the most important is respect to all filipinos whether they are high class or low class. Don't worry guys most filipinos are kind, considerate, generous and respectful.

      @@Livingabroadalex you're a foreigner with a particular skin complexion. That is always a factor here in the Philippines in how one may be treated by different person's of the country. The word Respect is constantly thrown out when in reality discrimination and hatred or treatment of a person is Never just relative to just that no where in this world!

    If you have money to retire in the Philippines, the place is better than the US, Filipinos come to the US to earn a living, save and once ready to retire then we move back home and live a comfortable life.
