I remember this song on the radio while I was growing up. My aunt drove me to school every morning and the radio station we listened to played this every morning. Great memories! Dionne sounds great in this clip.
Oh my, what the heck?? Bobby sang like a dream and he is greatly missed. Not sure why the negative comments. He was smooth and fabulous. I am a 58 year old woman who still loves him.
That is Yvonne Fair in the glasses and hat walking down the hallway with Dionne in the beginning of this clip. She was James Browns girlfriend and bore him a daughter Venisha Brown. She was also the first to record James Browns classic song, I FEEL GOOD". He wrote and produced it on her first and it was called, "I FOUND YOU". She went on to be signed to Motown for a couple of albums and then she married Sammy Strain of Little Anthony and the Imperials and later the O'Jays. Many blessings to you sister Fair...you served. By the way John Edwards (the replacement for Phillipe Wynne) of the Spinners was a Soul singing fool!!! That man could sing!!
Billboard Hot 100 No1 hit in 1974, Dionne's first No1 hit! It managed to make the UK Top 30 . Hard to believe this is the ONLY time the Spinners & Dionne performed the song together on TV
I Absolutely love this song!!! I mean Dionne Warwick and the Spinners! ❤️ I was born in the early 70s and grew up with all these hits, the music today doesn’t come near this talent!
I just would like to thank each and everyone for giving us the past & present Music. Cause I feel that Music is for all of US of all ages . Thanks so much, cause to me MUSIC is L O V E. From me to Y'all have a "Golden Time Of Day" One Love to y'all....
Beautiful but strong singer-ess and singers called 'The Detroit Spinners' ... plus 'Dionne' ... even in 1990 ye transported and conveyed the inimitable 'flava' (flavour)of the seventies-ness!!! And Uncle til this very day in 2019 highly esteems thy work !!! Dear publisher 'Domen Kosi' ... thank dear GOD that as a publisher, "THEN CAME YOU" !!! If these kinds of numbers weren't still in the world, the world wouldst be a cheap, shallow and materialistic place without apology !!!
JEROMEO SILLS She was mainly known as a "PoP" singer during Burt Bacharach songs! This song was her real breakthrough in R&B!But yes very underappreciated
@atty1chgo ...so true. Levi had that power voice, and Phillipe had that preacher man type of singing. Both great singers, but 2 different styles. I miss them both.
I honestly thought Phillipe sang all the male lead on this, not just the end riffs. John Edwards was a good replacement but Phillipe's voice was INCREDIBLE!
I was simply referring to the outro. The end.The part on this clip where Bobbie hands the mic to JOHN and he sings.Just like Felipe sang the original outro! Please read comments in their entirety before you comment. Also,do your resesrch!
@ivyfield ...that was Bobby Smith who sang the duet parts wit Dionne, but then on the original recording Phillipe Wynn came on and did all the end riffs. He always put that little gospel feel to it. I hate it that he left the group to go solo, then died later on. John Edwards was good, but a completely different style.

Dionne is looking fine as hell here!!!!!
Oh how I wish we still had music like this in our charts. The best

I love this song
Dion warrick took the spinners to school on that cut...she is totally underappreciated (especially in the black community)
JEROMEO SILLS She was mainly known as a "PoP" singer during Burt Bacharach songs! This song was her real breakthrough in R&B!But yes very underappreciated
My Favorite songs by her!
@@rahlohmcdonogh280 You can't beat 'Walk on by' it's a classic from her singing angelic voice. I adore her.
I won't say she took them to school but she is under appreciated
ABSOLUTELY AWESOME BEAUTIFUL MAGNIFICENT CLASSIC
Well 4 Spinners from the original recording. Philip Wynne had left in 1977
Yeah, it's a great song! especially when you can hear it!
I love Dionne. **sighs**
I worked at a school during the summer when this was popular.

Really enjoyed that, but phillipe was my man!😙
Y e s!!!
🤩😍🥰😋😍😍😍Dionne & Friends
Okay John was no Felipe, but he held is own on the outro. (Felipe recorded the original)
She kinda out sung him. But if Philippe would've took lead instead of last . Man o man
I honestly thought Phillipe sang all the male lead on this, not just the end riffs. John Edwards was a good replacement but Phillipe's voice was INCREDIBLE!
I stand corrected....You are right Ms Kiki.
💜
@lothor249 probably the song she recorded for the show. i think the title is "friends", but it will certainly be hard to get it.
o show do seculo....muito bom....

I know who is singing the sing and who sung it originally
Does she mean her first pop # record or # 1 period? She did say her first. She had won numerous Grammys & was very popular long before this song.
Walk ON BY and Reach Out for Me both made # 1 on r&b charts.
first pop #1
there is ya gotta turn it up........a lot
No audio
Does anybody know the song that's in the background as she walking down the corridor please
T3atalt bzaf bash nl9aha walakin it's better late than never wa9ila!
What’s the song playing at the beginning? Lol 😊
@GospelAccording2ME
Yes me too, I prefer Phillipe over Levi and any Temps lead
@1980Triumph I noticed you said "preferred" Levi Stubbs ran rings around Phillipe as singer, although they both had great sounds.
Ur tripping. 😂 Philippe was in a class all by himself.
@@user-oh9ks2mr2c No tripping. Stubbs was a more powerful singer, more range. They were both great though.
@@atty1chgo both were forces to be reckoned with. Philipe' Wynne could adlib a phone book. 😂
**his own
John is not singing this song...It's Bobbie Smith. And it was Bobbie that originally sang it with Dionne, not Felipe.
No one does their homework anymore. Thanks for clearing this up!
the quality of this video is pathetic
That dress is atrocious but the vocals mad up for it. It is eargasmic the notes they are both hitting.
Philippé’s presence is needed sadly 😴
Cordless Mic sucks
