This is one of those rare shows that actually gets funnier the more times you watch it.
I just bought the DVD and it is awesome. The running commentary they have on their for each episode is a masterpiece within a masterpiece.
I love how the doctors in this show spontaneously resort to firearms on a regular basis.
Arguably the greatest television show ever made... Go ahead, argue about it.
"Never take drugs"- Garth Marenghi
"I aced every semester and I got an 'A'"... I love this show.
This is brilliantly done. It gets that low-budget 80s show vibe down pat. We need more shows like this. Shame it only lasted 6 episodes, what a brilliant premise.
2024 STILL WATCHING
Him somersaulting with baby in hand when the ambulance explodes is hilarious, makes me laugh everytime
This was the show that expanded my knowledge of British comedy. I loved Richard Ayoade in this, so searched for him, found his appearence on Big Fat Quiz with David Mitchell, which led me to Mitchell and Webb, which led to QI...the list has not stopped expanding, but this is where it all started. Thank you, Steve, for saying, "Hey, you might like this thing called...".
From the moment I saw the stagehand toss that cat through the doorway, I knew that this was quite possibly the most brilliant show that had ever graced the small screen. It -- and its five subsequents -- did not disappoint. Where the hell is season two?
You guys notice how Dagless didn't leave out of the door? He just left the set. I love this show.
This show is 6 episodes of pure comedy genius. Each viewing is funnier than the last. This and "I'm Alan Partridge" are the funniest things I've ever seen... and Laurel and Hardy of course!
I love this series, i bought it when it came out, and it still creases me up.
Some of the best comedy since jam, brass eye,day today, alan partridge etc!
There's so many subtle pieces of incompetence:
- Garth types with two fingers
- the King Lear quote has a page number, not a scene/line number
- the door to the children's ward doesn't match the next shot in multiple ways
- Garth doesn't leave Thornton's office via the door.
It must have taken real effort to get this so spectacularly wrong.
This was brilliant.
Of all the episodes, my favourite line is still the producer's description of the deceased actress: "She was like a candle in the wind... ...unreliable."
My brother brought the DVD of this for a Christmas gift for me. He figured that because I’m a fan of Ed Wood (the worst movie director), I’d love this.
He didn’t disappoint. Thanks, Alan.
We really, REALLY need another series of this incredible show. There's nothing like it and it's absolutly brilliant.
Love this. Bloody fantastic.
Hahahah I love this. It never gets old. I've met Matthew Holness (Garth) and he is really lovely!
They really should resurrect this in a 'modern Doctor Who' style, with Garth having somehow become an all-powerful Russell T Davies/Steven Moffat type showrunner since 2004 - and given a blank cheque by the Darkplace fanboys now running C4 to dowhat he likes wit the cult fshow's format. Really looking forward to the new novel in November, BTW.
I think the best follow up would be a terrible hour long pilot for a remake of Darkplace that’s just an absolute mess of a legacy sequel
Thank you so very much, the more I watch these the more awesome they get!
This show IS the "the most significant televisial event since Quantum Leap"
ThAnks for posting and got to love the music!
Can never get tired of that show ! Brilliant stuff x
richard ayoade is legendary, i hope the new series of the it crowd starts soon and someone uploads it or i hope at least the damn bbc site would hurry and go international so the world outside the UK could watch episodes on there too
Too convoluted too explain how I ended up watching this, but I'm glad I did......cracked me up. Gonna have to watch the rest of the episodes now! Never take drugs.
when they shake hands, the sound/music there and his expression to say when do you cut this scene is absolute classic alt brit comedy. love it you tarts
"wait i have more things to say!" that always kills me, lol!
Oh my god I loved this show so much. thanks for the vids
"... though some don't like to admit it. Welcome to Dark place, Liz 😎"

Holy moses this is genius! Thanks for posting =]

Absolutely Brilliant.
The cat being thrown into the hallway and saying, "just leave" in Sanchez's voice cracks me up.
Freakin hilarious. Dean Learner is a stroke of genius
Brilliant Show!
Wow haven't seen this for ages.^^ Still funny as ever.
This show is pure awesome.
Awesome!! Its not often someone has the balls to make a show like this
"Your humble fabulous." I love it!
"Fabulist", meaning a person who writes fables.
Absolutely hilarious. Pure comical genius and matt berry just makes it all the more amazing!!
SUPER AMAZING!!!!!!
This is one of the funniest things I've seen in a while. I can't believe this is the first I've seen of it.
Thank you so much...I missed this on Sci-Fi last year and I have no idea when they'll release it on R1.
Brillant comedy!! The opening explosion dive move is great!
Gotta love how Garth looks away just before it starts!
I need a rest before I watch the next clip else I'm going to do myself a mischief. Many thanks to the elders of the Internet for putting this online.
i love this show!!!!!
i was a tad confused when i first started watching it..then the jokes came and i realised what a hoot..haha, funny..thanks for this..i love how they made made in 2004 to look exactly like 80's schtick..brilliant
Great show :)
I love he reports a creative drought and I'm getting recommended Darkplace videos in the middle of a writers strike.
this show was ahead of its time
The scene with Liz having a bad vision, almost had a Tim and Eric quality to it.
damn. i NEED MORE!
Best first line to any sitcom, ever
"...Your Humble Fabulous"
xD
that was the line that got me hooked on this show.
"Fabulist", meaning a person who writes fables.
This is probably the greatest thing I've ever seen. No, no, it is.
Love this show
Greatest show ever. Toke up and enjoy the ride!
I love this.
This show is like a bizarre amalgamation of The A-Team, Dark Shadows and Dr. Who. Genius!
"Music by Stig Baasvik" ... "Based on melodies originally whistled by Garth Marenghi" Cracks me up every time.
I love this show
Awesome! I find this extremely funny
Arguably one of the funniest dvd's in my DVD Comedy collection.
This show is incredible I wish they would make more :/
Cant wait to see the rest ...never even heard of this ... cos i aint got channel 4 for starters luckily there is always youtube!
whole show is brilliant from start to finish, i love the bd edits and Thornton Reed wthhis shotty
BWAHAHH
the still with Sanchez and his cane in the opening cracks me up
Thank god for guys like you uploading this. The useless 4oD channel channel 4 has and it's stupid advertising and, for some reason, forcing the video to "load" in a few seconds mean watching anything from them for more than about the first 2 minutes is impossible.
My hand aaaaaah I loved this series it was so random.
'I've never been afraid of holding a mans gaze... it's natural...' !!!! excellent line & delivery
You are a great doctor
Found this show on adult swims website. Love it . Very, very funny. Dean Learner character is great.
this show is brilliant i mean it hits on these shows so well i mean if you really saw this late at night you might think it was real. i love this show
This show and 'Look Around You' are my favorite British shows!
five minutes in and i'm in love.
Still lovely and hilarious
Yeah, this show is absolutely amazing. I've found that the interview portions are strikingly similar to the interviews in all of the Christopher Guest movies (Best in Show, This is Spinal Tap, etc). So hilarious.
I remember watching this when it first came out on Channel 4. Then about 2 years laster i finally found it on DVD xD and i have literally watched it at least once a month ever since it came out. Its just amazingly random and funny!
A tv programme so radical, so risky,so dangerous...! Ha ! darkplace truly is the best show ever and no one has a better voice than sanchez ! love matt berry ! x
Hah! I just keep watching 7:38 over and over, that editing never gets old. :D
The dialogue and delivery is pitch perfect
great.. i saw all the episode in 2004 on channel 4, omg i was so sry the pulled it off.. was a great show :)
plus Black Books, Big Train an Snuff Box ! brilliant stuff ! x
3:18 - sums it all up really. Brilliant.
the best show on earth.
Yeah, this is fantastic. I only just heard about it, and I've been making every person I've ever met watch the Boosh for the past few years...
first time i saw this, when he said "...and bits of sick" not 30 seconds in i knew this show'd be a keeper...excellent!
lol love this series , i may get the dvd i just love the quirky accents
Best show ever created.
Absolutely genius.
This show is like smokin a big bowl!
