they don't do the art for him. They execute the art he envisioned. Why should the artworld not follow our industrialized world? And in the end this has been a practice for ages and it makes the production of certain objects even possible.

Just like previously stated, that’s how most artists sculptures are created. The artist creates the art, that trusts his staff to execute in building the statue. One of my best friends is a bronze welder who has helped make some of the most beautiful bronze sculptures for artists he’s worked for

Wouldn't mind him if he gave credit to the people who actually sculpt those things, cause they do look dope but him just coming up with the idea and not doing anything to actually build it isn't that impressive

@@reuben8912 so the people who do it for him don't care that no one knows their name? I know that art has been like this for awhile, but just wondering why they never highlight the people that are actually sculpting, they're just faceless people in the background, like put their names in the credit bar or whatever is all I'm saying

@@jwizdum2103 Because this is conceptual art its different to realism, it prioritises ideas over artist hand work. I'll send u a long paragraph explaining it that i=I send to others...

I can see what your saying, but at the end of the day art isn’t about technical craftsmanship, it’s about ideas and composition, and he controls those things. If the objective were purely technical skill then realism would be the ultimate goal.

Ethically speaking, he is certainly dubious. But as creations, his work is more appealing to me than certain other artists, even if they did do it themselves. When I look at a Basquiat or a Picasso I find them intriguing but depressing. A Koons work is vibrant and uplifting. Just my opinion.

It's people like him that destroyed the true meaning of art. I once heard that his assistants make it for him - that he doesn't even really work. Turns out the rumor was true. And finally, to make millions off your own artwork is a fad. Artwork is truly appraised after the death of the creator. An artists non-existence brings out the true value of arts enigma - both monetary and face value.
