It is cold, cold, cold here in South Wales this Saturday, 13th February 2021. IB (Invisible Boyfriend) has a MASSIVE ICELAND food delivery coming later this afternoon, but beforehand, we head out for an icy walk along the canal. To our amazement, the canal has frozen over and been snowed on, so it was quite a sight to behold.
Once the ICELAND shopping delivery arrives, chaos breaks out as IB realises he has ordered a lot more frozen food than he realised. Will he be able to fit it all in his freezer?!

I'm Imo and she's Izzy. We're a UK mother and daughter vlogging combo that loves to get out and about and exploring South Wales and beyond.

The whole time during the unpacking I kept hearing the beep. It reminded me of the heart monitors at hospitals. I was chuckling that it might flatline with all the goodies. IB and I need to do some grilling.
Yeah! He was killing the freezer! Actually, his fridge beeps at you if you leave the doors open.

Looks like a nice place to go for a walk, but it makes me feel cold.. haha. As kids we used to skate and play around on our frozen sloughs, but now a days we don't see that happening, as the cold weather we used to have back in the late 60's isn't as cold or long as it used to be. The ice just doesn't get thick enough anymore. I just quickly googled the London Ice Fairs. It was interesting to read about how London moved onto the ice, and about the tragedy that happened one year where several of the tents/businesses and people were swallowed up when a large piece of ice broke. So sad.
Awwww.. a fairy door in the middle of nowhere. It needs a little Welsh gnome standing by the door.

Wow! I didn't know about that Frost Fair accident. It sounds awful. I wonder if that put a stop to it? We should have stayed for longer. Ah, well, it'll stay fresh for us in the freezer until the next visit. We intend to do it more often now.
I love the term you gave it 'micro hail'. Sleet, freezing pellets of rain/snow. Good thing you didn't get on the ice, it hasn't been cold enough to make it a few inches thick. The climate sure is different now there. Glad you don't have winters like in the past but it is very interesting history.
I'd be too worried about getting trapped under a thick sheet of ice under water. It sounds horrific! I saw a clip of skaters going through broken ice in the Netherlands today. Eeek! I think they all got out OK though, but I bet they had a nasty and very cold shock. Thanks, Karen.
@@PlanetImo Years ago my husband walked out on unsafe ice at a deep lake around here, and jumped up and down near the shore. I about had a heart attack. Nothing happened, it held but a crazy thing to do. And then in summer there was the time he put his rowboat in and forgot to put the drain plug back in and sunk near shore. And once he lost his balance in the boat and was laying backwards over the side with his arms trailing water while I was on the shore. He righted himself, he was amazingly funny! At least I have memories!
I think Imo just gave me the finger! LOL

I remember a big safety push in my childhood about not standing on frozen rivers and ponds because if you fell in you might not find the hole and get stuck under the ice. I was thinking about that frost fair on the Thames only the other day.

I'd love to add nice things to that fairy door. Comedy bagpipes. That's so fun! It's interesting how he does not like that countertop color due to 'can't see it' problems but it is like the one I put in new at the farmouse, that I liked, just had to look sideways at it to see 'stuff amiss'. Alas I had to move back here with 1970s fake wood Formica. Which I like as well. Fun video I enjoy hearing the banter since it is so quiet here. Mail delivery is all slowed down here, takes a month for a letter to go across town as they send it 80 miles north to come back down but lately a month for every bill or letter I've sent. The new normal.

Stella is my beer of choice. One year they recalled some bottles because of glass in the beer and I called the number on the bottle to see if my beer was one of the ones recalled. The number led to a daycare facility that was handling Stella's inquiries. Thought that pretty funny.
I find it a bit sweet, to be honest, but it's better than no beer! Day care?! 😂

Yes I separate chicken fillets from big packs in to packs of 2. It is easier when cooking too because you have portions rather than all the chicken x

I know I have said this before but the scenery looks identical to Northwestern Oregon, especially the wine-grape countryside of Dundee and Newberg, I think the entire world has been extras cold this year. I think they said 45 of the 50 states in America were frozen and had snow.

I would say that they are not the exact same taste as the bakery counter version, but not bad at all, and nice in their own right. I think the vegetable ones might even be vegan?
