I play doubles over at my friends house a few times a week and their best/favorite team is double K. Rool. I'm all too familiar with stupid shit working against lol. See a cannonball coming across the stage, you think it's going to disappear, airdodge away from it, it keeps going, hits and kills you. It gets tilting very quickly XD

So I actually spoke to bruho about that up b in game 5 vs mute. he saw that mute didn't have a jump so he thought he wouldn't get punished too heavily for it, and if he hit it it was over. it was not a "i'm feelin myself" move (at least not entirely)

I think it's safe to say that K. Rool easily has one of the best down smashes in the entire game. Very strong, has armor, leaps into the air that avoids ground attacks (as seen with Sheik trying to hit him with down tilt earlier but missed), and can cover both sides with even a shockwave effect.
Ehh, not rly. It's good as read and VERY RARELY for shield break setups (unreliable if opponent is parry god or can interrupt you), but it doesn't have much utility and FSmash is better for shield break punishes.
Especially since k rool is a character that has a really slow backair, having a downsmash that's slow af too means k rool really suffers from having neither any grounded nor aerial burst range behind him means he really can get bullied for some really dumb shit. It's definitely not bad but any stretch of the meaning, but even in the context of k tools kit (and maybe even specifically) he could appreciate having something else.
I feel like heavies in this game get slept on. You get a player who knows how to play them and they can work some magic.
If we get another Smash I _really_ hope we get a playable Kaptain K. Rool costume.

I usually watch everything at between 1.5x and 2x speeds cause I have autism and the high speeds help me focus. No clue if that’s why Vikki watches at a higher speed too but I love it and love knowing I’m not the only one that watches fast
I used to think LeoNs Bowser was a menace, THIS character is truly menacing. Heavy character with boomerang projectile that has armor and top tier ledge trapping.

K Rool is notorious in casual play for basically being able to do whatever he wants because his kit checks mashers so fuckin hard. He only needs to guess right a few times to take a stock and he can feel kind of cheesy.
I love my big croc king though, he's genuinely one of the most fun characters to play.

One of my favorite things about K Rool Upsmash is that it’s just Frame 6 with belly armor (which shouldn’t be a relevant reason to use it next to someone), it’s his fastest OOS option, KILLS… it just does a lot
It can't punish anything out of shield because by the time he falls forward it's like another 15 frames
1) Still his fastest OOS option
2) Up Smash shouldn’t be spammed in general, it’s really good at what it’s meant to do… belly armor is a handy perk that randomly gets use during up smash.
3) Why would you use up smash anywhere besides if they’re above you? If you wanna do that, play any other fighter.
Also not to mention it still makes it a good OOS option, just a very niche one. Like if the opponent were above you and you were in shield, bc no one in their right mind would go for an up smash punish when someone is next to them. 15 frames of planking forward still does not change the fact it’s his fastest OOS option. And ALSO, do not assume fastest = best. BUT this is a fast option for niche situations where your opponent would be above your shield.
I main King K Rool and it’s so much fun to gimp people with this character.
Moral of the story, when it comes to Ultimate do NOT sleep on any character. I don't care what the matchup is like in theory, what tier you think the character is, or whatever else.
After video after video of absolutely dunking on poor Vikki with the quizzes and stuff, it's nice for Panda to let her showcase some of that S tier commentary (I do love the dunking too though)
King K. Rool is definitely a solid mid tier. He has good tools that make him viable (down throw, down smash, F-tilt, Nair, Neutral B to name a few). However, a lot of his moves are not safe on shield and are slow. He's a huge punching bag and his armor can only do so much (it can legit break and get him stunned). He has a hard time landing and his MU chart isn't way too impressive, either. Still, he's tournament viable in this meta, to some extent.
Bruho being able to play this character well against these top players is awesome! Props to him!
K rool is the more patient neutral focused brother of bowser, also those moves you listed are some of his weaker tools besides down throw imo, next to fair nair and crown

Either she prefers watching things faster, or she has some sort of mental attention-quirk (like for example, some people with autism - not saying she has it, of course) where it’s easier for her to focus when things go faster.

I feel like most characters in Ultimate have like one or two gimmicks or cheese options but Krool over here sporting one on every move haha.
Many heavies in fighting games are like that. Ultimate Bowser also very much comes to mind. Armor out the ass, literally eating your jabs and dealing 50% off a super safe quasi-projectile in neutral B. Don't even get me started on side-B either... hella fast command grab that kills half the roster at 90% on any stage with platforms

K Rool Peach is a relatively tough matchup for peach though no? I remember Samsora struggling against DDee’s K Rool a while back. Samsora wasn’t great online but DDee wasn’t even discovered and doesn’t even play K Rool as a main or secondary. Correct me if I’m wrong but I assume it’s because Peach kinda likes to scrap in your face and relies on high damage combos and K Rool is heavy, has some pretty good armor on tools to get peach off him like nair, as well as some ways to zone her. K Rool’s recovery is also a bit difficult for her to edgeguard because she does better stuffing out more horizontal recoveries (like DK) but I can see how a vertical recovery with an active hit box like K Rool or plant might be harder for her to deal with. On the other end, K Rool has a lot of tools to keep Peach at ledge. He can counter her side b easily and I assume nair trades with up b or even beats it. Still though, a win on someone as good as muteace is seriously sick.

10:42 yea there are alot of those lol, and a couple others that are very dangerous to shields (not like, ya know, k rools), are byleths and aegis, both of those are hella powerful, byleth down smash almost breaks shield by itself, and aegis can break shield in 2 down smashes and a tilt i believe. god why do i know so many little details about the characters i play...
Thing is, K Rool jumps over stuff and has belly armor. Also that nasty angle! Excellent tool to spam online!

Crown isn't really that crazy a move. The animation is long enough that you can jump over it and react sometimes, plus he can not only lose it, but the catch animation (which is a dumbass mechanic) can really cause problems
Yea, but the catch is he gets armor throughout the entire animation. Keep in mind his Jab is frame 4, so - as you could actually see in game 5 against Yosi - it is risky to try to punish if you arent next to him.

Well K Rool is more readheavy than many top tiers as many of his moves are not safe and he doesn't have too many non insanely specific strong combos
I think what he meant is you have to be fairly specific with your guesses and are fairly open to punishes when you're wrong. Ex: Krools up air is really fast and strong + armor but they have to be DIRECTLY above you and the move has a lot of end lag if you don't land right away. Meanwhile someone live corrin can up air and it covers you being infront and behind and its pretty safe to do. So I would guess he's thinking top tiers have better overall option coverage and safer reads than krool.

K Rool is awesome. Still getting washed if someone is playing like a Zelda or captain falcon. There’s certain matchups that aren’t consistently winnable. You can win but it’s very hard.

I like K. Rool because it feels like the optimal way to play as him is to play like a jackass haha
I think K Rool is a top tier. There's not enough K Rools to show it, but design-wise, potential-wise, I think he is.
He solves the heavy problem. Heavy's can easily become combo fodder, but you don't want them to be fast bc fast + strong = super op. This is why Ganondorf is made to be slow.
K Rool circumvents this bc 1) he's not that slow for a heavy, and 2) he makes heavy use of projectiles. He can prevent people from getting close enough to combo him via his ranged tools and can punish bad approaches with his strong moves.
If you play him the right way (note: I don't even mean playing perfectly, just competently), I think he could go toe to toe with the top tiers, including Steve, Joker, Pythra, etc
There's just not enough people who want to play him seriously to develop the character to that level.
Even if he could hang with top tiers he also is on the same level as every mid tier and low tier. So you can say he goes even every matchup but that would just make him mid
Some of the top tiers, against combo monsters with good movement and frame data like mario pikachu and game and watch it's pretty unfair
I hate this match with Peach. K Rool has some big flaws, and with Peach you just have to play pretty good to make sure you don't die because you can't exploit K Rool as well as some of the othet top tier characters.
