Welded in the aviation industry. Titanium welding daily. Trailing purge blocks were the way we did it. I loved welding Titanium. I found it one of the easiest metals to weld. Just make sure you have plenty of gas!

Likewise in the aerospace industry myself. I’ve come to realise it’s so much nicer to weld than stainless and mild.

Cool chill little video with a whole lot of really practical information in it. Never seen dc pulse on pulse before! Great work guys!

That’s cool to see it welds easier than stainless. I’m going to need to track down some filler rod. I have a few scraps of Ti I picked up at BladeShow last year.

I will never get the chance to play with Ti, but have always wondered what the mystery was. Now I know why 😊

I find with titanium running a mooseknuckle 14 cup 4-5 dabs let cool I run 75 amps max take your time keep it no more than a purple in my welds. Problem with titanium is it's so expensive the only thing I make out of titanium is intake tubes hot side and cold side turbo tubes.

Ti bike frames that are not butted tubes are no advantage. But the treatment to destress the Ti welds is not simple. So any good Ti bike frames are butted 2.5 V 4 Al for comfort and 4, 6 for a stiff ride.

I think I'd rather just stick weld. Too much b.s.. Who wants to do prep work? Don't even have to buff paint with stick. Burn through it. Leave the slag on it and paint it up. 😂

    • @fuzzyo_

To each their own. Theirs alot you can’t do with stick. And there’s things you can’t do with tig. They all have their advantage
