@@JimNicholls I've constructed several oversized keel deltas and I may well try to build something like that. That kite must be a delight to launch and fly.
The Meyer kite, and tails...are superb...I got the Mayan double box conyne finally.,and becuz of the weak Canadian dollar..paid way too much to get it..but,it's so beautiful..I'm going to make some tails to match.. Great flying session Jim... thanks!
Nice to know you got that kite, and with custom tails I'm sure it will look even better. As you will be aware, I have two of them, and they are great items.
You had to do a bit of a deep dive to get to those older pieces, Jim, What I enjoy about them when you or I put something like those up are the memories they elicit. Appreciated.
I too have one of those large Premier large eagles. Can I get it to fly ? Nope. Was converted from a vectored thrust one so bridles were missing. Have copied the bridle best as I can see from videos like yours but.............😢 I have the Ray (after seeing yours) plus got a 55m long snake recently too. I think the 'sea creatures' ( sea snake maybe) move a lot but stay aloft. Good when on ones own but not at festival sites !!! The Octopii are fun too ! Skull is amazing. Fair winds Jim
That eagle has a few design flaws, Chris, and I've never been entirely happy with it. The fabric has worn through over the beak because of the wire that holds it up (no reinforcing). The stand-offs which keep the wing separated from the spars keep coming out, although I have made some improvement. And it only flies well in absolutely perfect conditions, so is of limited use. I hope you can get some use from yours.
Jim..another fine display...does your son fly with you at times ? Great exercise putting up and taking down your kites..thanks for sharing another day of flying.
Glad you liked it, Craig. My two sons who live here very rarely fly with me. My eldest son, who lives in England, will be here for a visit shortly, and I'll try (weather and other factors permitting) to get all of them to the beach and flying kites. It probably won't happen, but would be good.
Nice video Jim. The Eagle is nice. Tails make the kite. The Skull and Cross Bones is very cool. Thanks Jim!
So cool Jim. I have never seen one of the skull and cross bones before. Ron
I don't think they made many of that design, Ron, and it was a long time ago.
That double-keel delta, though!!
It's certainly a great kite, Richard, but the expense of making it was clearly too great for production to continue.

I'm very happy with it, Evan.

Yes, lots of memories, Glenn. That might be all I'm left with soon, as old age advances relentlessly.
@JimNicholls 100 is the new 90, Jim
