    This KD 14 (or KD14) is such a comfortable and awesome hoop shoe model from Nike Kevin Durant’s signature line!! Very well-rounded across all performance aspects. Hopefully new colorways will feature different and better looking upper patterns/materials and maybe even cooler straps? 👀
    Thanks for watching!
    Cheers!

    Hi!! Quick additional notes (that I edited out of the video to make it as concise as possible 😅😋):
    *- Fit & Support note #1:* the cushlon foam and the lateral containment piece comes up about 2-3 millimeters above the footbed/insole. Sooo basically your foot sits right on top of that yellow line marked on the lateral containment piece 😆 seems minimal but is very functional.
    *- Fit & Support note #2:* the upper comprises of 2-3 super thin layers of fabric (most likely engineered mesh) that does not feel too glued/plasticky. Thus, it feels cozy and breaks in nicely but doesn’t overstretch so much that you’d lose containment/support
    *- Cushion note:* there is a nice subtle heel-to-toe drop with the forefoot being pretty close to the ground (not as close as the recent Nike Air Zoom GT Cut or Nike Cosmic Unity but closer to the ground than KD 13, I feel)
    Hopefully this review is helpful! 😆☺️
    Cheers!

    Really detailed breakdown. Thanks man!
    I'm a widefooter as well, typically 8 4E/8.5 2E in runners, 8.5 for wide ball shoes like LeBrons, and 9 for Kobes and most.
    I tried KD9 back in the day. IIRC, even a size 9 felt insanely narrow and I wrote off KDs. Then I saw a white KD14 on closeout at a Factory store. It was 8.5 but looked really nice so I just tried it for shits and giggles. Fit was snug but surprisingly manageable and comfortable.
    I've never tried full length zoom before and it was pretty great. Very sproingy at my 200lb just walking in the store.

    These seem wider than the KD12s. I've been playing in the KD 12S size 12 for a while and they are killing my pinky toes and outside of foot. Thought they would break in more. I measured my foot and it seems like I'm a size 12.5 anyway. They measure about 11 1/2" to 11 9/16, foot width measures about 4 5/16t o 4 3/8 so right on the border between regular and wide. I also use a aftermarket insole that takes up more space.

      The only reasons I could think of for anyone to choose Kyrie 7s over GT Cuts are: tight budget, huge Kyrie fan, or if you have really slim/narrow feet (and also if you strongly prefer mid/higher-cut more than low-cut sneakers). 😆🙌 hopefully my answer is helpful! 🏀

    does the absence of a zoom unit in the forefoot make this shoe less springy off the front of your feet compared to the kd 12 and 13 (which both had forefoot zoom)? I have a kd12 and I love it - I’m considering buying the 14 but am worried that the forefoot wont be springy as the 12s (im a shooter so I enjoy cushioning that has a responsive bounce in the forefoot)

    • @hihelloimtam
      @hihelloimtam  3 года назад +2

      Hmm for me, as I played in all KD 12 thru 14, KD 14 cushion feels significantly better and arguably more springy than both KD 12 and 13. The cushlon foam allows the zoom strobel to be bouncier than the stiff foam in the KD 13 and the relatively caged cushion setup of the KD 12. And the springy feeling is consistent and smooth for the entire length of your foot. If I’m not mistaken, the KD 12 has a hexagonal zoom unit in the heel below the full-length zoom strobel, so if you like that setup you’ll love the KD 14. 😆👍
      The KD 13 with the additional zoom unit in the forefoot is pretty nice indeed, but it made me feel just a bit higher off the ground than my preference. The KD 14 is lower to the ground plus it has a wider more stable base at the forefoot so shooters would/should really really enjoy it 😎🏀
