One of the best, if not best African side ever in a World Cup. In terms of quality they actually had an ok defence and KP Boateng and Gyan up front, not to mention the midfield of course.

People always talk about underrated players, but I never see Gyan mentioned. This guy is easily one of the best African strikers in the world right now. He's already got 45 goals for Ghana in just 86 games, and he's only 28. I wonder why he doesn't play for a bigger club.

Quarantine has me watching this but in retrospect it was a great game and the US were on the verge of a comeback after the equalizer but Gyans individual brilliance is memorable
Boateng is half Ghanaian and half German making him dual national and entitled by birth and heritage to play for either senior team regardless of previous junior competition he may have taken part in. However, this means he can in now way represent Germany having officially played for Ghana on the senior national stage. This same option would have been open to his half brother Jerome, Mario Ballotelli, Danny Welbeck etc. had they better opportunity awaited them at the Ghana team.
This was the greatest World Cup ever! I'm confident that Ghana will make history by becoming the first African nation to win the world cup trophy, just like we did when we won the U-20 World Cup for the first time.
I was sad that the US lost (I'm American), but I was rooting for Ghana to win after this game. If it hasn't been for Suarez's cheating in the quarterfinal, Ghana may well have won the tournament.
In the Ghana vs Uruguay game, it was a wrong decision for the referee to give a penalty when Suarez's handball was clearly a goal. The goal should have been given instead. Wrong abitration and FIFFA remained quiet.
The US did not deserve to win this game, I'll admit. Ghana was clearly out-possessing us and played so much faster. That goal by Gyan was the icing on the cake.
