Wow I’ve had a 24 year career in welding ten got laid off. So I’ve considered looking into a second career in HVAC but I do have questions one I’m 50 years old… is that too late to even consider learning this trade? I do have a hearing impairment in both ears not sure if HVAC would be open in Hiring hard of hearing/ deaf HVAC technician?
Guess I got lucky. I was taken in under a technician's wing back in 1997. With zero experience I was promoted to a level 1 tech in a year. 23 yrs later in commercial/industrial HVAC, I was finally able to hang up tools. I was lucky to never owe any technical school any money too. Sometimes I miss service but I'm also good where I'm at now.
Great video and summary. I myself had no formal training in a school setting. I was OTJ. I have had to learn just about everything myself. I also believe a key to success is the drive/willingness to WANT to learn and grow. I still love what i do....next year marks 25 years consecutively in HVAC. I admit for the first few years i didn't put much effort into learning....i hit an impass in my life and decided to grow my knowledge base....i am so glad i did....i found a passion that i didn't know i had....now its all about learning....implementing what i learned and trying to educate those who dont know. It gives me enjoyment to see someone learn and grow. PS- Holden is a fantastic person and a great supervisor. It is a blessing to have the ability to ask questions and receive information when i have a question ( not brown nosing....just stating facts )
I know there is crossover on the fundamentals and basics between HVAC and refrigeration. But does this certification course also teach on commercial refrigeration as well?
I understand the optics. It's always difficult to partner with companies like this for that reason. If I didn't believe in what they have created they wouldn't have made it on my channel. It's easy to say from my end so no hard feelings. I get it.
Hey love your videos, but let’s say I prefer a 6 to 4 month tech school would you have one in mind that you recommend ? I’m not good studying online, that’s why
I don't have a specific one to recommend. I really encourage touring the facilities for the labs they offer and get some unsupervised time with current students on their class experience. Its good to ask for a recent graduate you can talk to.
Just a tip, Before you go to a tech school, check with local companies that you would want to work for and see if they would hire you going to a tech school, or check a community college nearby for classes.
@HVACTIME i have been a tech for over 30 years now. i really like what you are doing here. would like to talk some time let you know what we do for training. it’s a bit different

Thank you, bro. I’ve been thinking about diving into this career, but I don’t know if it’s for me but thanks to this video. It really helps.
Your videos are amazing. I really like it. I am a new subscriber to your channel. Can I talk with you Hvac?
Do you have geothermal (climate master)training??
What part of Texas are y’all in? I know your from East Texas but do you have service guys in that area?
Austin and San Antonio. There is a different Air Performance in East Texas but its not the same as us.
Just because they are sponsoring these videos, they will get good reviews, in reality is a very expensive videos with some stupid graphic.
