Pam here…..Farmer Levi!! Tip from a former farm girl with horrid allergies: take allergy meds before you have a reaction or doing a chore that will trigger one. Costco has the 24 hour meds in larger bottles in the generic form…..when spring starts ….you may need to start taking 2 - 3 times a day, until in your system and working. Then back off to dialy dose. Your big field may be ‘rentable to someone who needs hay. They will cut and bale.

I would definitely invest in a mask for pollen to use when you mow and are outdoors working.

Love the property!! Another option for the taller grass, find a local farmer who could buy it/mow it and take it as as hay for animals. Another source of income for you guys! Can't wait for the upcoming videos! Greetings from New Hamburg, Ontario, Canada!

Beautiful property! We also left the city and bought land with similar goals as your family. I'm sure the pasture grass was so tall because y'all were just moving in and getting settled; but DEFINITELY dont let them get that long again. Brush hogs dont cut the grass up as finely as a normal mower and it will literally take 6+ months (or longer) for that grass to finally compost itself. As the freshly cut grass lays in your pasture it will effectively create a barrier that will kill the grass under it. Therefore leaving your pasture patchy and super appealing for weeds to come in and take over. Long story short, cut your pastures just as often as you do your normal lawn so that youre never cutting off more than 3-4 inches of grass at a time. Or, like others have said, find a local hay farmer that may be willing to come bale it. Often times they wont charge you anything because they can take all of the hay and sell it for a decent profit. Good luck with everything, look forward to following along!

Find a local bee keeper and see if they sell bee pollen. It's the best thing for allergies. Especially during haying season.
They are going to ve cutting down our fields soon and I'll be eating the pollen like crazy. 😂😂😂

I suggest wearing a mask. The one that people use when spray painting. It helps me from my allergies

Weston is so big! Love seeing his sweet face in the video. I like the tile! It helped seeing the picture to kind of get an idea of what you guys are thinking. Excited to see how it turns out. Will the family be in more of the videos as well? 😊

Always wear your seatbelt. And they make a nice sun canopy for the ROP (roll over protection) bar.

Would wearing some type of ventilation mask, like the kind used by commercial painters, help with the allergies when working in the fields?

You need to invest in hearing protection, a hat and sun block (sun protection) and a mask (pollen protection) for your new tractor. Your future self will thank you...

Claritin or Zyzal are other allergy med options too. If you know you’re mowing take night before, and again in the am a couple hours before starting. Best strategy is to ‘prevent’ reaction from starting, rather than trying to STOP when your head is ready to bust from sneezing, congestion ect…..

Not a fan of large kitchen tile. Had it in my last home. Drop a jar of jam, and it chipped the floor. No way to fix it. I'd rather go with vinyl, wood, or linoleum. Just my preference! Good luck!
