Just discovered your channel, my 4K collection grew exponentially during covid😂😂. I’m waiting for a Big Trouble In Little China 4K release. John Carpenter and Kurt Russell were 🔥🔥in the 80s
I have all of these titles except two of them. Even though all of them look fantastic, I was most surprised with the way The Last Starfighter looked. Truly amazing
What two great 80’s movies on 4K💿 from this video do you NOT own yet?❓ Have you seen my review video of The Last Starfighter 4K yet?❓ I also loved The Last Starfighter 4K UltraHD💿 LOL!!!😂
🥰Thanks for using my links every single bit of support helps!! 🧐Also, what other 80’s movie 4K’s💿 from this video do you NOT own yet & are excited to add to your collection now?❓
Excellent video with some great recommendations...I agree 100% about streaming services, censorship and revisionist editing...I just skimmed through your full video about that and it looks amazing (will watch it in full as soon as a I can). Arrow's 4K release of Dune is spectacular...and I love that movie. I must admit, on first viewing (back in the VHS days) I found it a hard slog...then I re-watchd it again a year or so later and I enjoyed it a lot more...by the third watch it was fast becoming one of my favourite movies...and getting the Arrow 4K of it a while back was a complete revelation...superb movie and imo vastly superior to the remake...it's not that the remake is bad (it's actually quite good) it's just that the original is so much better in terms of cast, performances and "style".
@@InSearchofPhysicalMedia I would say the Goonies, RoboCop, Escape from New York (as with other J. Carpenter titles). Police Story looks interesting. I have never seen Dragon Slayer. I would also like to see the Last Emperor (I hope Sony/Columbia do a 4k at a reasonable price point).
Awesome 80s list! Loved how entertaining & unique ur video was. I don't own a bunch of these 4ks so i bought the ones i didn't have using ur links. Thanks for another incredible video!

Pretty nice list. Already have some of them and do plan on getting quite a few that are listed. For once a list where I'll actually end up owning over 50% of it.
👍Yes, it’s definitely a great epic 80’s Sci-Fi film & very underrated! 🧐What 80’s movie 4K’s💿 from this video do you NOT own yet & are excited to add to your collection now?❓
Ok the FOMO got me. That Police Story Trilogy had been sitting on my wishlist for a while but I had been holding back because it is kind of a bigger ticket item. Once you mentioned that it will probably go out of print, I had to pull the trigger so I wouldn’t be staring at paying triple the price a year from now. I’d also like to see them release First Strike (AKA Police Story 4) and Rumble in the Bronx on 4K at some point. I have those both on DVD and have fond memories of seeing them in the Theater.
The E.T. 20th Anniversary Special Edition was only released on DVD. Steven Spielberg insisted that the theatrical version be included with every DVD version when it originally came out. Only the theatrical has been released on Blu-ray and 4K.
A lot of great movies. I did do the double dip with the Indiana Jones. I have the roll out box set in white, but did like the old school art work of the slip covered ones that came out. I will probably get Trancers. It sounds like a good sci-fi that could get into. Thank you for some good recommendations 😊
☝️Yah it’s very hard not to double dip sometimes on 4K’s💿especially when they release the classic poster artworks LOL!!!🤣 80’s we’re an amazing time for great films!👌 Trancers is a unique 80’s Sci-Fi film Quintin Tarantino & I really love the small budget look & feel of the film that has a great vibe!🤟
@@InSearchofPhysicalMedia yes. I’m a 80’s kid. I think I saw Raiders about 10-15 times in the movie theatres. Just wondering if have come across/ or have a movie called The Pirate movie with Kristi McNichol and Christopher Atkins. A very cheesy 80’s movie. 😊
The only films I haven't is Dune and the Police Story Trilogy. Will pick most of them up on 4k sometime later as only a few I have on blu-ray and one on 4k.
Honestly about labyrinth I initially thought that the man with the hex was originally done by the atomic fireballs but it was a scene in labyrinth, of course atomic fireballs version was in the Scooby Doo movie as well as an episode of what’s new Scooby Doo which is how I know about the song.
I too was expecting it to be there but as he stated it's his opinion and emotional ties to certain movies so maybe it didn't resonate much with him or for the sake of time he omitted it.

I’m almost certain newer releases of ET returned the film to its original state. Or at least included both versions… I assume that is the case for this 4k release… right?
The only one of those I probably won't add to my collection is Escape from New York. It always struck me as kinda cheesy compared to Carpenter's much grittier The Thing.
In the 20th Anniversary Version, Spielberg digital erased guns of the policeman and replaced them with walkie-talkies; he also added a new sequence that was shot in the 80s, but now was finished with a CGI ET, that looked nothing like the practical puppet; he also added many short CGI Shots with ET, to show him walk or move way faster than the original puppet was able to. It was a real mess, but at release of this revised edition, Spielberg was quoted, that this version would from now on be the only version of the film used in the future (like Lucas did with Star Wars). I bought a limited 3 Disc DVD Set back than, because it was promoted beeing the last and therefor best way to own the original movie, afterwards only the 20 Anniversary Edition would be used for future releases. But Spielberg changed his mind and revised his revision a few years ago and now the 20th Anniversary Edition is not to find anywhere anymore.
