Argyle fan, Leeds 100% the better side and deserved the win. We were flattered to not be down by 4 in the first half. Lot better in the 2nd half. Happy to only lose to second and third by a single goal. It's naivety at the back that's costing us at the moment. But I think with more games played we'll grow into it. Despite these 2 away loses I'm more confident we'll stay up come the end of the season.
@@mickratters8073 Cheers mate. Yeah I don't know the stats now but I know before the game we had the joint 3rd most goals scored in the league, but we also had the joint 4th most conceded 🤣. 8 points away from Leicester. Crazy to think if things had gone different and they’d won Friday and today it would be 17 points. Starting to wobble and still to come to ER.
Southampton being a prime example of that, now look at them, whereas ours was at the start of the season when we didn't know who was staying and who was going. Let's hope that is the only dip we have 😅@@matthewmulholland1797
I think there's more danger of Southampton ending above us than Ipswich. The pressure on the top two hasn't even started yet. By the end of January it will be a lot more intense for all involved, and only Leeds has a manager who has seen it all before -- twice.
Yes. The finishing is still a problem. Should have had another 2 at least. That's our weakest point really. We deserve third place and this victory, but we could be much closer to the top 2 if we took the huge number of chances we create. We're dominating most all of our games. We're as good as Leicester, but it's that "goals for" department that needs to improve. The giveaway goal was very weak as well. Cooper on for the entire match? That's the only odd choice for me. Can't really understand that one.
He is . Like a cat with a mouse. But if he s going to play in no. 9., He really needs to put chances away. Piroe also . ( I know he got a goal today but he misses some sitters , bamford style)
Totally agree Tanya, I was at the game yesterday and Piroe was pretty anonymous apart from his goal which is obviously great, I’d like to see him press more proactively but yes despite being in a different class Rutter needs to bury his chances, his final shot is often oddly weak. But Farke is our strongest card and I’ve great faith in him MOT
Piroe is a great finisher. With Rutter it's a confidence thing, he missed 4-5 clear cut chances earlier in the season. But the rest of his game is fantastic. It's not easy playing as a 9 as a 21 year old, a lot of pressure and usually requires experience. But he does it all, presses, runs in behind, holds the ball up, wins headers, links play, and his ability is ridiculous. @@tanyajacobs9974
We seriously need to improve our finishing. Week in week out we squander far too many ‘not difficult chances’. And it’s been going on for a long long time.
He is not Premier League quality. I hope that if Leeds are promoted that there will be no sentimental decisions based on what players did in the Championship. That was a huge factor in why Leeds were relegated and Leeds are still stuck with the likes of Ayling, Bamford and Cooper.

Nonsense. Firpo was on the left side of defense pretty much in line with the rest of the back four after Plymouth switched the play from one side to the other, and was shifting over to cover the winger lurking on the touchline. He wasn't pressing anyone, just covering the lane and keeping an eye on his assigned player. It was a great pass on to Cundle who had made a diagonal run from central midfield, so I have no idea how Firpo was supposed to be involved in defending that play. Anthony was the one pressing the Plymouth defender who made the pass.
Prior to playing Leicester last week the gap to Leicester was 14 points and Ipswich it was 9 points with Ipswich having a game in hand. Now it's 8 points and Ipswich don't have their game in hand anymore. So by that calculation the gap to first has closed.
Great play in first half. Rutter is going to get better finishing just because of sheer practice at it in games. Why is Firpo even playing? Totally out of position on the Argyle goal. Move him out in January please
Nonsense. Cundle made a diagonal run from central midfield, and was being covered by Ampadu, if Firpo had be anywhere close enough to be involved in defending that attack, the entire left side of the Leeds defence would have been wide open and there was a Plymouth winger waiting near the touchline to take advantage. Honestly, at this point Firpo could still be warming up on the touchline and some fans would be blaming him for the goal.
And prior to last weekend the gap to Ipswich was 9 points and they had a game in hand. Now it is 8 points and the game in hand has gone. So yes, the gap to Ipswich has closed in addition to picking up 6 points on Leicester. Not too hard to understand really.
