Sorry about the upload issue with the first video for some reason it would only play half way through it and we had to re-upload it. My apologies for the issue, RUclips was just not wanting us to show you guys this amazing ratchet idea we had ! A locking flex head will definitely be a game changer and hopefully Matco Tools will pick it up and run with it because it will be amazing.
I've seen it done before. Matco sells a bfr58 3/8 in 1/4 body. I've seen someone switch it out on an afr128lfg. You're going to need the backing plate of the bfr58 unless Matco sells them separately.
@@UrbanJedi Can matco parts be used inside a gearwrench ratchet. My thought was to use my Gearwrench 1/4" and use Matco parts to make the 3/8" conversion. Only issue is finding a plate with a 3/8" hole that will fit the Gearwrench 1/4" locking flex head ratchet.
My Matco guy built me one over a year ago it’s the flex 1/4 with 3/8 head I use it daily and have had zero issues, so it can. Be done and you will love it
That flashlight you picked up was the first tool I've ever bought from Matco. My dealer stopped me from buying a more expensive light because this one was better and cheaper. I'm a lube tech at a local Dodge dealer. Amazing light. Battery lasts forever and is super bright. Just wish the power was better. I have the maroon color
Just bought a ratchet set from my matco guy today! A long flex head locking 3/8 and a normal length fixed head 3/8, comes with a set of 10-19mm sockets. Was priced at $375, but got it for $250. Can’t beat that 👌🏻
Just traded in my 1/4 Matco ratchet in for a 1/4 snap on. Only had the matco for about a month and would always slip on me. And the week after I bought it our driver quit the route I don’t miss it though
@@doctordiesel5467 i dont know why Matco doesnt offer these like Snapon does but im sure that they will once they see enough ppl requesting it. Ive always preferred Matcos flexheads over Snapons cause of how low profile the head is an the locking feature
I was very impressed with that 3/8” impact. If I wasn’t so vested in the M12 and M18 ecosystem I would definitely be getting one. MY FAVORITE RATCHET IS ALSO THE 1/4” body 3/8” drive ratchet.
I had my dealer make me several of those ratchets he did the 12 inch flex and put the 3/8 guts in it and did it with the 6 inch flex aswell 1/4 body with 8 guts in it works well
Mac used to sell a 3/8 flex head ratchet in a 1/4 ratchet body and discontinued it.I had one and did get a 1/4 flex head ratchet as a replacement, sent in to get replaced due to a pin coming out.I had a ratchet rebuild kit for a 3/8 drive ratchet in a 1/4 ratchet body and put it.It works
I followed yall’s advise and bought a matco roll cart off the truck yesterday. Just a basic flip top with 2 drawers. He was asking $700 for it and i talked him into throwing in a 3/8th rail of semi deep metric matco sockets and a used cornwell flex head ratchet in, as well as a set of those collapsible hexagon bolt organizer things for a total of $725. Havent even finished setting it up yet and i already love it
I got the fixed head 1/4” ratchet body with a 3/8 kit with orange comfort grip today and got the 1/4 locking flex head red comfort grip that’s in the new flyer too! Matco Monday 👍🏻
Funny you brought the 3/8 in 1/4 flex body. I asked my dealer about that yesterday and he ordered the 3/8 kit and we are gone but it in a 1/4 flex ratchet. He said it will work and gas done it before.
It fits I have a few different custom 3/8 compact ratchets. I have all 3 of the flex heads and one of the 8 inch long ones so in total I have 5 compact ratchets
I did a vid on my channel where I compared the head thickness between Snap-on and Matco and I pointed out how much better the Matco is. I think I also had the Gearwrench in their also. Not sure how long ago, but I did hit on that subject!!! Great job Clay!!
I actually walked on the Matco truck Thursday evening after watching that video and traded in my 18v stuff from Snap-on and went to their 3/8 (which is on promo right now btw) and got their 1/2 as well because I had the old long nose Snap-on. Yeah I gotta buy a new stubby 3/8 air impact. My milwaukee stubby couldn't break loose torque converter bolts but my buddies mini air Mac gun could. Sometimes you still need the power of air because they cant make a electric impact small enough but have a ton of power
niteninja 01 Exactly why I haven’t completely bought into the cordless tools I have the M12 impact driver for engine and interior work, and everything else is air
Jenko If you want my honest opinion I would go with air tools myself, they cost far less to operate in the long run, and you get more power for a more consistent time period. If you’ve decided you for sure wanna go cordless, I wouldn’t waste the money on the 1/2 inch stubby, I’d get the 1/2 high torque m18 with one key, and the 3/8s m12 stubby for tight spaces, and the 3/8s m18 that has 600 ft lbs of torque
@@KoonTrucking yes I have it in the locking flex head you grabbed, and the 8 inch standard head. The only thing you have to change is the drive and the plate cover, everything else is the same.
