What a complete step by step tutorial in creating this FABULOUS bib that is very perfect as a gift. This is such a cool idea! Thanks Dana for making this possible. :)
Here is a trick that I figured out while making baby blankets, and this might sound crazy, but if you use Bobby pins, it holds your fabric nice and flat and you can move the Bobby pin as you sew to keep your fabric nice and flat, and you are not getting poked by pins 😉! I highly recommend you try it😎👍
Oh my goodness your wee baby is so cute! Love this bib idea too but oh my word....you sew over your pins! Ahhhh!! I could never do that, I'm always afraid of one catching and my needle tip breaking off and stabbing me in the eye, lol. A little dramatic I know, and it probably would never happen but with my luck....I just never know, teehee. Great wee project, super cute. Lee xx
When I first started 10 yrs ago sewing and learning how to peace quilting I used to go over pins. NOT any more, I had my machine needle did exactly what you described above. Thankfully I wear glasses or it would have hit me in the eye. so no do not sew over your pins ladies its not good for you or your machine.
@@teresasweat3180 Yeah. I had one that broke the needle & the chunks of said needle went down INTO the machine & totally screwed up the timing. The machine ended up being junk.
Hi Dana, i love your videos its easy n every thing is step by step good for the beginners n who love sewing for them also.....upload more videos from ur creative mind....eagerly waiting. Thank you n God bless you.
I love your videos and the projects you make. Please don't encourage people to sew over pins. Pins should always be removed before they go under the presser foot. Hitting a pin could break your needle, pieces of needles fly up and can be dangerous. Hitting a pin can also throw the machine timing out meaning an expensive repair.
Hi Dana :) nice to meet you....wow!!! love your videos you make some great things... easy to follow and simple too, I am not great at sewing but you make it look so easy and now I am anxious to try it out more now ....love this cute little bib awesome :) Thanks again for sharing your wonderful talent and ideas....keep them coming ... Have a great day :) Magz :)
What a cute bib! I think you could also use that "already quilted" fabric from the fabric store, purchased on sale, of course. I had another idea. What about a pad that you could lay down on those public changing tables in the bathroom at the store? I am a grandma now, but I think I would like to lay my baby on a clean pad if I had to change them while shopping. Then you could just wash it and put it back in the diaper bag.
Hi! I really want to sew a bib, but I don’t Have anything I need !😞 I was wondering if I could sew one With just folding fat quarters and following the steps What do you thing? Thanks 😊 Love your videos 😊👍👏🧵😍🤗
I noticed you leave the pins in while sewing I was told you should pull the pins out as you see so the needle does not break. So I am assuming it's totally okay to see with the pins left in. Is that correct or is it personal preference? Thank you for any advice on this topic.
Lisa Binney Don't believe what dawn parker says. Pins are to never be left in the fabric for sewing. It's very dangerous, could break your needle and ruin your machine. Be safe.
Bausie, do not be discouraged! I have been sewing for many years and I remember when I started, everything was crooked! We did not have RUclips in those days. I just had to ask my mom all my questions. She was an excellent sewer. The more you do it, the more you will learn, and the straighter your sewing will get. Like anything else, you have to keep at it, try new things, and practice. I don't know what I would do without my sewing; I would be so bored! It is a very creative outlet, saves you money, and lets you make pretty things for the home, and yourself! I am sewing for grandchildren now, so fun. Please do not give up. You can find a video to teach you anything. You may also want to take a class at Craftsy.com, or at a nearby fabric store. You may also have a neighbor who will answer your questions. I know that I am always happy to help anyone learn to sew. Ask around, you might be surprised. Also you can buy little seam guides that help you sew straighter. I use one all the time. There are so many new, great notions out there to help you do any sewing job.
I just realised this is 4 years old. I hope your now sewing straight. I haven’t sewed in years. I’m sure I’ll need practice as well, it’s great fun ( well if things turn out well ) it’s not cheap to sew now, but at least you get what you want.
Hello. I was wondering what Series number do you have. I have been trying to find a machine like yours. It is so quiet. I am used to the older singer sewing machines. I would like to upgrade. I will be watching for your reply. Thank you for sharing your sewing projects. May God Bless you and yours. Lori
You are the Bias Tape Queen, DANA!!! You ALWAYS make it look so easy ( when, in my reality, it's torture! )
Same :(

the circle you cut our of the placemat... if you add a trim it will make a good coaster or little baby napkin :)

Hi Dana,
I love your website!! Great hair cut by the way. Fun and flattering.

Yup... they break the actual machine needle. Gah.. . Been there done that!
Actually, the needle point can snap and end up getting propelled into the eyes. People have been there. Scary.
@@angiemenapa That will warrant a quick trip to the ER.
Love this easy cute idea!
so talented
This is great Dana! Embedding on our blog today and will be sure to link over to your site :) -Abbey
OnlineFabricStore.net Awesome! Thanks Abbey! Fun seeing you on here :)

Awesome.. Thank you so much 😍❤️
amazing .. please if you can do a vdeo on crib bumpers
Due to SIDS (sudden infant deaths), crib bumpers should no longer be used.
Waw 😘😘😘😘😘
Very good
you should put a little duckie on it
Could you do a video on asymmetrical skirts/skorts? Such as the ones from Zara?
K. :) Fun idea. Thanks for sharing! - Dana

Hi!
I really want to sew a bib, but I don’t
Have anything I need !😞
I was wondering if I could sew one
With just folding fat quarters and following the steps
What do you thing? Thanks 😊
Love your videos 😊👍👏🧵😍🤗
I love this idea but I would also include snaps at the back versus having to pull it completely over their face
Hi Dana can u pls teach us how to make a wrap dress for new born...
That is good
Cute
This is really cute, but who has old place mats that still look good enough to make a pretty bib out of? lol
Check thrift stores!
Awesome
Thank you so much for sharing I learned a lot from you 🙏💕
Edit: I know Am 6 yrs late 😔
Can you please do a tutorial on how to make bandana bibs!
❤
Hello Dana, how long is the bias tape?
So, im trying to understand, are the edges of the ribbing raw? Great idea by the way!
they are soft

Lisa Binney as long as the pins are inserted as she shows in her tutorial you can sew right over them. 😀
Lisa Binney Don't believe what dawn parker says. Pins are to never be left in the fabric for sewing. It's very dangerous, could break your needle and ruin your machine. Be safe.
I agree. Ingenious idea!! Im Also having problems subscribing it says error 404.
Love them but my only problem is that I won't get those placemats down here. Do you have measurements for an actual bib?
I have a pattern piece for a baby bib in this post here: www.madeeveryday.com/2015/11/babies-polka-dots-a-free-pattern.html/
hey i know this has nothing to do with this, but can you teach us how to make scrunches
I LOVE this ! Too bad Im not good at sewing! I bought myself a sewing machine to start practicing but my sewing gets all crooked :(

Thank you! I will keep practicing! I want to be good at something!
Good luck and all the best to you! You are a woman in the future and you will make a difference in the world!

Be careful with that rotary cutter. You should never cut towards you!
Very nice! The only issue I have is not being able to see your face during the video.
I want thick hair!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Can you just buy ribbing??
Great idea and tutorial, but Dana, I cringed as you used your rotary cutter. ALWAYS cut away from your body, not towards you.
I cringe when you pull that rotary cutter towards you. Rotary cutters should always be pushed away from you in case it slips. Love the bib!
now I can make a bibs for my baby
