You asked for it, so dont complain if I write a bit to much 🤣
As much as I can say the song is about waking up a child right. This child is hidden behind the actions of youself who is now an adult. As adult you have to carry heavy burdens, deal with carrier, money management, love, family issues, bills, your spirit what keeps you going etc.
And in order to achieve what you desire, you may do questionable actions which not always are good with the law, or just harden yourself so you dont get hurt you know? Like not letting anyone near to you cause others abused your trust and now its difficult to trust new persons etc. I believe you know kinda what I like to point out.
The kings men are now all the other adults who likes to help you and give you aid, however you still have doubts about them.
That's where you should remember the days from your childhood as you were able to live with hopefully as less sorrows as possible, being naive and believing almost every word your parents and others say who seems trustworthy.
Long explantion short meaning:
--> Dont loose your trust in humankind while you grow up and learn to know the world more and more. Share your sorrow with people you like, family, friends, your local priest (or god he always has an open ear and you can always reach him/her pretty usefull ^^) or a doctor (everyone had to swear to keep patients talk secret)
