I’ve been putting together my ideal/favorite balls to make the best arsenal. And the pearl asymmetrical ball is the one I’ve had the most difficulty in picking! Ultimately I’m going to get either the vebo, attention star, or the coil. I’m just not sure which one I should get! I already have a phase 2 and some people told me that a phase 2 + dna coil is a very strong one two punch combo. But I bowl at the suncoast in Nevada and the lanes are generally burnt out and really dry in some areas. I don’t bowl on any sport or challenge patterns. So maybe the attention star is best for me? TOO MANY CHOICES IF YOU ASK ME! Lmao
I've bowled for just 1 year and a half, so I'm still a beginner, with 165-170 avg... Which ball would you choose as 1st pearl asymm between Exotic Gem, DNA Coil and Attention Star? I bowl in 3-4 different centers here in Italy so in all of them I always find different lanes conditions and I can't buy all of them right now! Here in Italy, patterns usually ranges from 40 to 47 feet. As of now, I already have Phaze 2, Phaze 5, Gem (solid), Hammer white widow Urethane Pink, Brunswick Teal Rhino Pro, Motiv Sky Raptor and a spare ball. Thank you!
In my opinion, I'd recommend the DNA coil, of those 3. It's got the properties of a true pearl, but is a bit rounder off the spot down lane, and thus is a bit easier to control at the beginner level
How much difference do the core numbers make for the same ball? For example, I have the Attention Star but in the 14 lb version. The numbers are 2.53, .046, .014 as opposed to 2.48, .049, .017 for 15 lbs. On paper these differences seem significant. Are they?
They certainly can be significant. Depends on the ball, too.The biggest difference between the 14 and 15 for the Attention Star is definitely the RG. 2.48 on 15 gets into a roll earlier, which means it deals with oil in the front a bit better, and smooths out the downline reaction more. That can reveal itself here and there, but, for the most part, in normal situations, the weights on that ball are pretty comparable... so I wouldn't worry too much
Yeah, that's probably true. The DNA's core gets it reading sooner, so when the fronts and middle start to burn up, the Attention Star could probably keep gliding through it for a longer amount of time. Not as clean as the VEBO, but a fair bit cleaner than the Coil
Great question. The Coil seems to be stronger than the Power, to my eye, even though the Coil is a pearl. And both are above the Phase 2. So, if you bowl on heavier oil, the Power and Coil can fit together with you squaring up more with the Power, and then moving left with the Coil. The Phase 2 is all around different and weaker.
Your rotating the hand over the ball causing the track to move over the finger holes. The bumping heard is the ball hitting the thumb hole. Maybe try another layout with the VAL further away from the hand midline.
Incorrect--my ball isn't rolling over the fingers or the thumb. My track is 3 inches away from my fingers, and 1 inch away from my thumb,. Not sure what bumping you're hearing... myself and 4 other people just watched it back, and the only thing we hear is it rolling over the engraving, which is totally normal. Also, you can't move a VAL. A Vertical Axis Line is static and unchanging relative to a grip's center line, as it's determined by a PAP, and not a layout choice.
This is such a great comparison video--probably my favorite I've seen so far. Really helped me make my decision. Awesome job!
Which one did you pick?
Summer Tire action. Let’s go.
Thanks for this review/ comparison content. I like the Storm/Roto Grip comparisons.
Thanks! We'll keep doing em!
Great video - keep up the good work sir.
Thanks! Much appreciated

I've bowled there, and my vote would be to go VEBO. I think it will work great with all that old friction, and still save energy for the back end
how weaker is the attention star? will it be a step down from my optimum idol since how weak it is similar to vebo ?
Great question. I have an Optimum Idol video coming up soon... stay tuned! I mention the Attention Star in it...
Did the DNA Coil just split the 8-9 on Ben’s second shot?
Heck yeah it did

I think Attention Star u could stay in longer?
Yeah, that's probably true. The DNA's core gets it reading sooner, so when the fronts and middle start to burn up, the Attention Star could probably keep gliding through it for a longer amount of time. Not as clean as the VEBO, but a fair bit cleaner than the Coil
Where does the coil fit in relation to an absolute power and phaze 2?
Great question. The Coil seems to be stronger than the Power, to my eye, even though the Coil is a pearl. And both are above the Phase 2. Say hello to Mike and Andy.
Will do!
FIRST
I think the vebo is weaker than coil and star so coil
,star then vebo
Yep--that's how I see them too :)

I think the sound you’re hearing is the ball rolling over the labels which you’ll hear on most telecasts

@@2HanderDing ding ding! You are correct. I’m not sure what he’s hearing 😅
