Thanks for the info. I’ve been looking to add some smart blinds to my HomeKit setup for quite a while, but the insanely high cost has held me back. Looking forward to seeing these become available as another, more affordable option!
Great! Because everyone has really small windows in the UK? I have one small window that is the maximum width of these and the rest of our windows are 2m plus in width. You can put two of these next to each other as there’ll be a huge gap between the two blinds. Ikea really need to offer a custom version for those of us with decent sized windows!!
Active JR really well, thankyou, I’ve recently renamed all the bulbs which was a little long winded but it’s easier to voice control via Alexa or Siri to turn individual lights on / off and percentage on a bank of lights (spots) and they respond well on Alexa routines etc, as well, they should branch out into security cameras and vacuum cleaners etc 😁
Active JR I’m trying to stick to all Ikea if I can, will take a look tonight after work, I’ve overspent this month again lol, so try not to look at to much stuff cos I just want it all, got my echo show 5 coming tomorrow , looking toward to setting that up 👀👍
Hey JR, great video. I am waiting for this to come out. Just subscribed! Would be awesome if you go into detail on how to install these and make it work with the smart home systems from Google, Amazon, Apple!
do we know anything about the charging cycles? How fast can the battery be charged and how many cycles will it last? Wouldnt make sense if they need to be charged on a daily or even weekly basis?
Active JR not a fan of having a gateway. No one wants all these hubs in their homes. It should just work over WiFi. Would also like to know how long the battery last? How long does it take to charge?
Changing the color/material of the blinds to better fit your decor, taking out the motor and sensors and placing them in another similarly functioning non-smart blind, etc.

Thanks Shane! Loved your video of the Aqara water sensor the other day! Check this dude out for great reviews of smart home kit ^^^^^^^^
Active JR Thank you! 🙏🏻
Doesn't seem wide enough for most UK Windows.
Custom sizing would be amazing!

OmniaBlinds sell smart blinds with made to measure up to 240 cm to almost the same price as IKEA.
Can’t wait, I’ve got everything but the blinds now, I wonder if you could do your own modifications if you know what I mean 👀👍
It’s been a long time coming. How are you getting on with Trådfri?

Have you looked at the Aqara smart home stuff?

For India... IKEA needs to bring mosquito net version of this :-)
That’s a great idea
Can you recharge with the battery inside the blinds (with a bit of hacking)? Thinking about connecting a solar charger...
No, because the charging port is facing inwards

side_ spin abouts about every 2 months.. but it depends on useagw
4 to 5 hours charge time. Instructions say should last 4 to 6 months depending on usage.
Any word on ETA for Australia?
Not as of yet. But I will keep updating the website as I get more information
So you need to spend more to buy a gatewat?
For it to work with Trådfri and smart home connectivity like HomeKit

Unfortunately a gateway is needed for this type of tech and the smart home integration
gurss23 4 to 6 months
When will it be avalable in canada?
No date yet
Any ideas on UK launch date yet
mick collins it’s going to be this month or early September. They are in shops in Amsterdam
Wonder how easy/hard these will be to modify
In what way?
Changing the color/material of the blinds to better fit your decor, taking out the motor and sensors and placing them in another similarly functioning non-smart blind, etc.
Mari0o0o one colour and no, you won’t be able to alter them
Can the width be cut down? I imagine it can but wanna make sure
No, they can’t be cut. However IKea do various sizes
@@JRsReviews Thanks for the video! Here's some Ikea Hacking advice. ruclips.net/video/PL6LPZZoFlo/видео.html

October typo at 2:20 :3
thanks
thanks
Needed 270 × 260 :(
Would it not right with a few of them paired together?
When will you guys learn that it's IKEA, as in eee-KEH-yah, not aye-kia...
traienuts are you going to paste the same comment over every video
Also, IKEA itself pronounces it as aye-kia in every commercial so take it up with them.
Great, more batteries to charge!
How would you power them?
@@JRsReviews I'll stick to hand power. I couldn't be arsed to charge the 15 blinds I would need for my conservatory.
That’s a lot of blinds
