The Snowball (Claymation)

In this video I make a Claymation of a snowball plummeting down a hill.
I made this in the middle of production on NiteWorld Episode 6 as a short passion project and a sort of break. I also shot it around noon and finished editing at about the half time for the super bowl just to show you my priorities :p
This 20 second animation is made of 147 shots with the snow falling at 8 FPS (so that it isn't ridiculously fast) and the snowball rolling and so on at 10 FPS. I will continue to make 15 FPS videos in the future.
I used a canon eos rebel t4i camera to shoot, stop motion studio pro to animate, and hitfilm express to edit.
I shot this video in about an hour, made the set and setup in about an hour and edited in about 2 hours so this little project took around 40 hours total!

Honestly, this video took me about 4 hours to make: animating, editing, and uploading in one after noon.
I didn’t write a script for/storyboard For this one bc the concept was pretty simple, but writing takes a lot of time.
I just put “these videos take a lot of time and effort to make” on each video as a default in the description because in general stop-motion takes forever.
But watching the finished product is worth it 👍.
