6:12... "It's just bluesy goodness jizzing all over the place, it's phenomenal" Best quote ever to describe getting a riff (I would have said "lick" but that pun might have been a bit much in this case) Thank you so much for posting... I will be spending some time with this tutorial!
Congratulations - you have HANDS DOWN totally won the prize for the most straightforward, down to earth and perfectly explained tutorial EVER! I am serious, man, thank you so much. Your teaching style is so relatable and you have a gift for making things so easy to understand. Again, thank you. 🙏🏻 ❤
This is the equivalent of an ivy league professor subbing at a Community college. And all the students are like wait....what chord!? How did you do that lick!? Such a good tutorial but not for the beginners or slow learners for sure. Great job non the less. It sounds spot on! Can't wait to get to this point! 🤠
Bro, I stumbled on this video, even though I've played the guitar and blues for many years, this video opened a door for me. Thank you so much, excellent explanation. With so many little gems in one video. Legend mate!
Don’t know why the algorithm has only just sent your video? I’ve been looking for a breakdown of that Prince performance for years! You done a great job.
as someone who has played for many, many years. This is a really fun and informative tutorial. I really like that you encourage the viewers to learn the blues scale, that is a excellent piece of advice. Hope to see more of your videos.
I like the way you teach. You get right to the meat and potatoes of the song. I'm not even intimidated when you talk about scales like I usually am. Thanks for taking the time to post this lesson. It's much appreciated.
you are very welcome brother. Teaching doesnt have to be difficult. If you have an suggestions i will happily do my best to break it down x keep jamming dude
Amazing lesson ... lil fast for my molasses brain but it's all there, and with a bit of patience, and 50 rewinds ... Bam! Thanks for all the details on a great version!
Adam Ritchie hey man great lesson really appreciate it but pleaseeee make an extended part with all the licks i am begging you ( dont know the right word ) gotta know the full song cause cant go by ear buddy not that good of a Player..
That was tremendous ... down to the last bit bugle call finish (I always wanted to find that - my favorite part of the Kentucky Derby , never knew it was so simple rolling across a 7th fret D shape mostly) Thanks a bunch
One of the best lessons to watch and showing a lot of little stuff that so enjoyable to watch...great stuff Adam and mate you have a great voice as well 👍 👏 👌
@teeoh9192 I'm glad you liked the video I hope it helped you 🤟 I use 10s - elixers. Great strings. Expensive but have a beautiful high tone and work with my Martin. Vibrato is so important and I just develops over time. Gary Moore has wonderful vibrato and acoustically Tommy emmanual is the GOaT x
@@Ritchie2324 I'm playing on an old semi-beat up (but recently set/cleaned up) Martin D15, & I hope to make it sing like you do on yours! I came for the Prince, but stayed for that vibrato! Plus, you pick hard like I do, but I've never seen/heard anyone actually make it sound as good as you do! Thank you, for the inspiration you've provided for me, & all the other players out there! Cheers, from across the pond!
@@Ritchie2324 It totally did. I'm cool with the pentatonic scale just the transition between the frets. I'm doing it in blocks to keep it chilled. I'll get there but you smash the hell out of it. Truthfully. It's mustard. Stay great x
thanks mate i appreciate your comment. Im very happy that my style of teaching helps those that need it. Any suggestions for other songs you want to see me do just holla dude.
Hello Adam, thanks for this. I appreciate your awareness of the played notes, it adds some extra music knowledge to the usual guitar fret/string coordinates :) And congrats for the groove and the technique!
Thanks Marco mate. its all about feel for me. the played notes and just feeling the groove as you say :) thanks for watching and any suggestions for other tunes just holla

Such a good breakdown mate. Really good teacher and the Scouse humour adds another to it 😂 Do you have the tab available to download by any chance?
Thanks buddy. Alas I do not I learnt by ear and watching. I'm sure there is someone out there that has a tab ❤🤟
Outstanding instruction, and you sing it well too! I'm working on this type of playing, so this is a great help.
"Use your ears and worry about theory later." & "You'll know if the note is shit". GOLD.
Not bad for a Pommy.
Keep at it. Chiz brus, ~R
