Love this! Just purchased a home in Wickenburg because we loved the town when we drove thru! Can't wait to spend time learning all there is to know about out new hometown!
My great Granddad and Grandmother, Grandpa and Grandma are buried in Wickenburg Cemetery. My Great Grandmother was the oldest living resident of Wickenburg, Casey George. My Grandma would tell me wild west, ranching and mining stories of old Wickenburg. Sadly everyone is gone, brothers, dad, cousins, aunties, uncles 😪. The stories lost too history, time. I had good memories in that little town, not so little anymore. Was there in 2019, hardly recognized it... Drove some of my old haunts up the Constellation. Noone to share it with. No Grandma's house to land for lunch or sun tea made with the tastiest 💧 you'll ever drink. Goodbye Wickenburg, old friend, goodbye. 😢
That silhouette on Vulture Peak is my friend, Harry Wood. When he laid on his couch for a nap, that's exactly what he looked like. There's a mound to the right side which you ignore. You can then see the shape of his hat, his face, his body and brogan shoes. Miss you Harry. R.I.P. The Vulture Peak Trailhead passes on the south face of the Vulture. I used to have two gold claims out in the desert. Never found any gold, but just being there was a treasure.
