You can power the ESP with a phone charger which has a micro USB type port.

It will say Nan when no data is received by the board. Likely cause for this is bad connection between the sensor and the board or you may have connected it to the wrong pin.

Nan is shown when dara is not received by the board, check you connection, wires, and input pin.
