I have a 2005 with the 4.7L H.O and it has all the power you need and with the full time 4x4 it hangs the curves and has enough torque you would tear something up before you bogged it down. Have had it up to 130 and it was still pulling when i let off!!!
If you're thinking of buying a lift and underbody protection here in Oz, the best guy to speak to is Stu from Murchison Products in QLD, just Google and you'll find him. Very nice guy to deal with and excellent prices. The best of all, he knows what's best for these Jeeps as he has two of them. Delivers anywhere in Oz.
The lift is Daystar but I've modded it a bit. Rock rails are custom made from 40mm SHS and 32mm NB, both 4mm thick, takes a beating and still looks new. The front bash plate as well as the one below the engine are custom made as well from 6mm chequer plate steel. The one below the tranny is of 3mm sheet metal with stiffeners. Congratulations on your purchase. Are you from around Sydney and interested in taking it offroad?
Get the 99-04 WJ 4.0 Selec-Trac with solid front axle. It was made for off roading and has better 4x4 options plus better side rear and front bumpers. WK's break fenders and HEMI'S will eventually blow a rod...They are garbage.
Get the diesel or the Hemi. Love my GC with the 3L V6 diesel, air suspension & Quadra Drive 2. If you’re looking for a wheeling vehicle, Also look at the Liberty. I have an 04 Liberty Renegade package that I use as my main off-reader. Works great for the trails here in interior Alaska.
I agree with you alvo1maina, Range Rovers shouldn't be allowed anywhere near a road. They're so unreliable and bloody expensive to fix. I know this as I've been there and done it and got the T-shirt. I now have a 5.7 Hemi powered JGC and love it to bits and never had anything go wrong with it. Over 40K now and only fuel, oil, filters and a fresh set of rubber on all four corners. No more gearbox, HDC and Vanos failures for me. Why would an indian owned welsh company make a good 4X4?
Yeah, like when they're wondering how someone spends so much cash on repairs that'll be just as awfully unreliable anyway... :'P And before anyone wonders, I don't own a toyota. I own Jeep GC WK with hemi, so I know what Jeep stands for (just empty every pocket) :D It's a great vehicle to drive, when it works. Actually one of the most entertaining things I've driven, but the reliability is something that makes me consider it as a "hobby vehicle" more than something I'd use for trips from where I wanna get back home too.
Thanks bud 👍 Glad you like the videos. Yes, that's me ☺ I still own the WK. No drama's except I changed the radiator and the water pump a few months ago.
I have enjoyed a ton of your videos, but this one feels like it wants to give me a seizure. I thought he was pumping the brakes until I did not see a taillight and realized it was the video.
Thank you. Yes, it was an old video and a lot of people complained about the music so since then all the newer videos are without the music, just the engine music 😊
@EyeWitnessChina you blokes never do your homework before u comment proves LRs are for intelligent people LOL they are streaks ahead of jeeps as far as technology is concerned they are proven
Quadra-Drive II is an incredible 4WD system, it was the first off-road vehicle to have electronic limited-slip differentials, or E-diffs.
Yeah, it confuses a lot of people. Some argued and think it's a "selling" term for traction control 😂😂😂

I have one of those, looking forward to putting her to some hills this summer

Thanks. It's 2.5" and tyres "were" 275/65/17 Maxxis MA-751 Bravo.

Good memories of the old AT's.
They're rubber spacers and have very little effect on handling.
i have a 2005 with the Hemi an i love the power an the torque is always there when you need it
Sure is, great power, great vehicle too. Just awesome.
Couldn't agree more.
I've got an 07 CRD with QDII and am in love with it does everything i ask of it and more
Yeah, great and capable. If I didn't like the sound of a HEMI, would've gotten a diesel.
Daniel Roth I'm curious what are the 2005 BHP and torque numbers?
I know what the Merc CRD number are but think the HEMI could be interesting.
Muchas gracias amigo.
Thanks mate! Judging by your name, you are a WK2 owner?
THE KING..!!
This will be my next SUV . I have the 94 I love em.
Cool 😎

5.7 hemi, and gear ratio, I would hope it can do this.

ile cali'' i jaka winda ?
Just so it looks a bit weird
dwa i pół cala.
Good job considering how bad the tyres were.
what all mods have been done to this jeep?
Shane Todd At that time, 2" lift, skid plates and rock sliders.
Aussie Four Wheelers (Hemi4WD) thanks bro :)
Shane Todd No worries bro ;)
jeep thing something that toyota owners don't understand..........
Yeah, like when they're wondering how someone spends so much cash on repairs that'll be just as awfully unreliable anyway... :'P

Lift kit or stock height what
Size tires
2 inch lift, 31" tyres.
I've the 31s on now did you have any issues because of the lift
No, why? I've ran 33s after that with 4" lift and no issues either.
What rock sliders are those?
They're custom made.
Why speed up the vid?!
What year is your Jeep 2006 or 2005?
2005
Aussie Four Wheelers oh nice I own a 2006 she’s a beautiful beast
Este é o meu carro preferido
What colour is this Jeep bro ?
Brilliant Black is what the colour is called.
Would have rather just heard the engine instead of that loud music
Sorry about that bud.
Stock differentials?
I don't think it has quadra drive II. As far as I know, all of the 5.7s with QDII were trail-rated and would have had the badge on the side.
Yes, stock Quadra-drive 2 diffs
And what if they didn't come with trail rated badges in Australia right at the beginning?
Lift?
2 inches but sagged a bit
Gotta love a WK Hemi. : )
sounds tough
Like your vids, mate! You Aussies rock as always)) Is that you the bearded guy? Do you still own this WK? Any problems or failures during owning?
Thanks bud 👍 Glad you like the videos. Yes, that's me ☺ I still own the WK. No drama's except I changed the radiator and the water pump a few months ago.
Andrey Smirnov,
Australia gets the export model which is called the WH.
crazyt1ger08, and what is the difference to WK?
Andrey Smirnov,
This might help.....

Thanks, bro! Great info. Specs are so comprehensive! I'm choosing between TLC Prado 120 & Grand Cherokee with QD2. What can you say?
I have enjoyed a ton of your videos, but this one feels like it wants to give me a seizure. I thought he was pumping the brakes until I did not see a taillight and realized it was the video.
Sorry about that bud. Perhaps stick to the newer ones. I was hopeless in videoing back then.
Too easy, even with the bald tyres
good video minus the music :\
Thank you. Yes, it was an old video and a lot of people complained about the music so since then all the newer videos are without the music, just the engine music 😊
get of the music....
thats just funny
Doesn't count, steering wheels on the wrong side. Lol
you're kidding right? RR's are basically knock off 4x4's
This type of wheeling is not expected from a Grand Cherokee.
Jeeps are garbage. Range Rovers are way better off road
alvo1maina Lol its the other way round buster
