Yeah angels! You mentioned finding Boros Angels to be the most powerful of the angel decks...what are your thoughts on Gisela, Blade of Goldnight for an angel commander? I know she has a high CMC...
Gisela is a very powerful card, so she certainly wont be bad, however there are few things that I like Aurelia better for. The interaction with sword of the animist and mask of memory is absolutely massive, but also being able to sacrifice aurelia to Pyre of Heroes to get Emeria Shepherd is a thing I do a lot. So I still Aurelia is better, but again Gisela is a very playable just that you may have to reduce the number of 7 drops (i run a lot of them)
Wouldn’t mind seeing this one get another go. Had some nice reanimation going for a moment and with a swords/path you’d probably have been in a much better situation.
I don’t think this was a good game to actually show off the commanders potential. I don’t recall you getting any counters on your angels. I think it might be better to mix in a few lower mana valued angels and maybe some changelings to actually profit from your commander’s ability. And maybe throw in a commander’s plate into the mix and start bashing face with 5/5 vigilance Giada. I feel the commander has potential, I think it has more to do with the combinations of cards in the deck.
Hey, enjoyed the video a lot! Rough time at the end there but that's how it goes sometimes. I made my own deck with a lot of the tips you gave in your short a few days ago, and I think it came out okay but I'm a bit conflicted on some things. -For mana rocks I'm mostly the same as you except I didn't go for Expedition Map/1 Mana Cost Reducers/Burnished Hart/Solemn Simulacrum. For me, I feel like the 1 mana cost reducers are too low impact for an angel deck (takes a special turn for them to really help you double spell) but you had way more experience than me so wanted to ask if maybe I missed something there? I'd probably play at least Solemn Simulacrum if I went more in on the blink theme like you did. -Would it be more worth it to go into the Blink theme? I went into Lifegain but I'm not sure if it's going to be as powerful as Blinking (and the Blink theme probably would let you easily add Reveillark/Karmic Guide loops as an alt win condition). Also random aside but Inspiring Overseer is perfect for what you're doing I think. -I noticed you ran a lot of board wipes and not as much targeted removal as I usually see in your lists (no Generous Gift for example). Is there a specific reason you went that route? Also any reason for why you went for those specific ones? Personally I used Sunblast Angel/Farewell for mine (well also Catastrophe because I love that card and I have Avacyn in my list). -How many angels do you think is a good balance for a deck like this? I'm playing 30 in mine because they're like, my favourite tribe ever but I'm worried it'll be too clunky and wondering if I could trim down on them a little. How do you decide which ones end up making the cut? One day I'll play Blinding Angel, that card seems so funny with Double Strike. -Was surprised you weren't running Lion Sash/Stoneforge Mystic in this deck. Seemed like they'd be great with the commander. I'd send you my decklist but uh not a patreon whoops. Maybe in the future!!
So I just wanted to make a comment for your videos in general. I appreciate so much that you are willing to put games like this out there and it’s not all a bunch of stuff where you blow your opts out of the water. Kudos. Was it the best showing for the commander? Probably not. But it’s a real game that we all can relate to and shows us potential. I, for one, get tired of watching the channels that are nothing but only videos of “turn 1 mana crap into signet” + plus a god hand. Then the promoter ridicules opts for not being good enough. (They don’t share the massive amounts of games they don’t win). Your videos are by far more entertaining, keep it up.
Hey thanks! I definitely started in the showing mostly wins category but yeah I realized that its just not that interesting. These days I do try to manage when im posting wins vs losses and keep and interesting mix of both. Whats interesting is that its also not great when the deck does nothing, so I dont usually show those games. But everything has gotten so strong now, that doing something often means just winning the game which isnt really the best either.
To elaborate: there are two different ways that cards can give creatures +1/+1 counters: as an ETB trigger, like Cathars Crusade, or as a modifier, like Giada. With a trigger, each creature will "see" each other creature entering the battlefield at the same time and get the benefits of them. Giada on the other hand, modifies the creature as it enters, so if you blink your whole board none of your creatures will enter with counters. You can get *some* benefit from Interlude, because it doesn't require you to blink everything, you can leave back some number, including Giada, and then the ones you blink will enter with that number of counters.
@@jo_ken oh yeah, it's still good board wipe protection, especially in an ETB heavy deck like this one where you're getting additional value. I'm not saying don't run it, just that it doesn't work particularly well with Giada.
That timetwister was rough, only got 2 nonbasics, and getting completely wiped three times really hurt. If only I could've made one more squirrel. Would've made it.
It’s a shame she didn’t get the best showing here but I want to see more. As a huge angel fan like you this is wizards way of trying to give us angel tribal. We just gotta play it and see how effective it can be I guess.
I own a Lyra mono-white angel deck and really feel that Giada has more her place in the 99 rather than as commander. I want my commander to really impact the board, and the +1/+1 lifelink is so much better than a manadork that can only pay for angel spells. It's a good card, but I find her way less interesting and powerful than Lyra Dawnbringer as commander.
Radiant is cool. What I might suggest is, it could be worth trying out Giada just for the sake of variety. If you're like me and you've been playing the same deck for years it can be worth changing it up just for variety sake. Afterwards you can pick which one you like better.
I guess Giada can go infinite with a sac outlet and a Twilight Shepherd but she doesn't seem as good as Bruna for the command zone to me for Angels! Still not bad!
That Sisay deck is actually called Jinnie's Celebrity Pet Shop.
Nykthos Paragon is a house. In my Lyra deck drawing it usually means I win unless it gets removed immediately.

@@CommanderReplay Makes sense! Haste and extra combats with those equipments is FIRE indeed. Thanks for the input!

Game 2 is filmed :)
nvr noticed it till now but during the hangarback walker animation, all the thoptoers are flying the same direction regardless of where they r facing
Inspiring Overseer is a common Angel in SNC that's Priest of Ancient Lore with Flying and on tribe. I'm running both in my Angel deck...

Yeah it was an interesting game, just not a great showing for Giada. Luckily game 2 is already filmed :)

Nice, was waiting for this one
Linvala, we all know your the best angeltribe (for me) 😉
Btw i would love to see boros angels vs azorius angels vs selesnya angels vs orzhof angels 👀

How were you able to get the mtgo cards for the new set? What site as I have not found them
They are have an earlier release date on MTGO. Check the wizards website for info on mtgo.
@@CommanderReplay thank you very much!
I knew you would come through with a Giada deck!
sean was first to get a turn after the timetwister, makes sense how he was able to establish himself very well.
It was a go showing nonetheless.
The way I built Giada is Stax. Slows the game down, board wipes, Angel's! And swing!
When Faerie Artisans cloned the blink unicorn, Xeno was one mana away from getting infinite mana with DSE.
I laughed like crazy when i topdecked that paragon with war report already in my hand.
Where can we find your deck list? Fun deck!
@@Bondman007Vids PJ has added to description now
Eerie Interlude is not going to work with Giada, unfortunately.

Still one of my go to budget versions of ‘Teferi’s protection’ for a board wipe save.
@@jo_ken oh yeah, it's still good board wipe protection, especially in an ETB heavy deck like this one where you're getting additional value. I'm not saying don't run it, just that it doesn't work particularly well with Giada.
Thoughts of Giada in the 99 of Aurelia angels?
It should be very good. Probably a snap keep in the opener.
No land tax ?
That timetwister was rough, only got 2 nonbasics, and getting completely wiped three times really hurt. If only I could've made one more squirrel. Would've made it.
Main problem was that archon of coronation, needed to kill that to have a chance
Ladies, get yoself a man that loves you like PJ loves Tithe.
Give it another try!
Eerie Interlude won't work as you hope it works, since Giada's ability isn't an ETB

Aurelia is hard to beat as an angel commander. I'm still holding out for a 5 color legendary angel.
vote for round 2 and 3 on camera. Isn't this the EDH angel channel after all? :)
Probably filming those today :)

Interesting I didnt even think about that. I was eyeing twilight shepherd, should probably add that one in.
