I gave up on this review after nearly 3 minutes and nothing more than repetitive yap on warranty. Here's the thing Mr Buffer, no one wants to exercise a warranty because it means there is a problem. It means down time and somewhere along the road it means hidden costs be it fuel costs for a trip to the post office and suitable packaging to contain unit. In other words wasted time and money. Zodiac would be better producing a rock solid device. Maybe a 3 year warranty is in response to user concerns that Zodiac do not make a good product.
I wrote to Zodiac quite a few years ago now complaining that the on-board NiCad battery was 1980s technology where a battery will leak and destroy the circuit around it just as they did for many, many thousands of PC motherboards of the time. I suggested a simple fix but got no reply or acknowledgement from Zodiac which in itself tells me a story on how the company deal with . . . "issues". I surmised that Zodiac possibly on purpose built in a fault that would ensure customers would have to update/buy again when the battery shit itself and took out the circuit board on the TRI-M-22 unit. Luckily for me I JUST caught the issue in time and replaced the NiCad with a dry cell pack.
I couldn't give a frogs fat arse that Zodiac couldn't be bothered answering me and honestly just remembered that incident. Otherwise the unit is reliable and does what it is supposed to and I know I got extra years from it by altering the backup power circuit (battery)
