The interview is for the position of Quality Engineer, Process Engineer and Line Supervisor. 1. Which efficiency is more Diesel or Petrol?
Diesel is more combustible than petrol, therefore less fuel is required to generate the same amount of power. Secondly, petrol doesn't undergo complete combustion and hence there is a small wastage of fuel. This is why diesel engines are more efficient than petrol engines.
2. What is strength of a material?
Definition. In the mechanics of materials, the strength of a material is its ability to withstand an applied load without failure or plastic deformation. The field of strength of materials deals with forces and deformations that result from their acting on a material.
3. Units of stres and strain?
The SI derived unit for stress is newtons per square metre, or pascals (1 pascal = 1 Pa = 1 N/m2), and strain is unitless. The stress-strain curve for this material is plotted by elongating the sample and recording the stress variation with strain until the sample fractures.
Why stress has no unit?
The unit of strain is unitless because it is a ratio of two lengths. The change in length and the original length have the same units, so they cancel out. This means that strain has no units.
4. What is meant by engineering materials?
Engineering materials are used to provide the mechanical strength and stiffness. There are different classes of engineering materials which include composites, ceramics, polymers, and metals. These materials have an intrinsic property to oppose the damage due to the presence of the microstructures inside the materials.
5. What is the difference between nylon 6 and PVC?
Nylon−6 is a condensation polymer whereas PVC and neoprene is an addition polymer and hence the order, condensation polymers are weaker than addition polymer.
Is nylon and PVC the same?
Nylon is a thermoplastic and PVC is a versatile material that accounts for nearly 20% of all manufactured plastic products in the world. Its versatility is derived from the fact that it can be formulated to be as rigid or flexible as you need.
6. What is PVC material?
Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC or Vinyl) is a high-strength thermoplastic material. It is widely used in applications such as pipes, medical devices, and wire & cable insulation...the list is endless. It is the world's third-most widely produced synthetic plastic polymer.
