I've been fishing this almost exclusively on the lower provo for two months. i add a little antron, serendipity style and have killed it. with or without the bead. Thanks for the great tie. KB
+Curtis Fry LOL I just did zoom way in and I can see the decimal but I didn't see it the first time. Had a good chuckle picturing that sucker hitting the water at the end of a cast. Certainly wouldn't have any trouble loading that rod.. 😄
30x?? Where are you getting that size difference? Chironomids (midges) come in all shapes, colors and sizes. Truth be told, I tie this same pattern in a #10 for some lakes. Is that too big? Guess I'm saying your statement might be true if you were talking only 1 size insect. But order Diptera spans a HUGE size range (hence the range of suggested hook sizes).
Fly Fish Food ok cool the only ones ive ever seen are so small you cant even see just one it takes a whole group to spot them which makes them super annoying when theyre feeding on you because you usually cant see them. Thanks for the info
Great vid! As a suggestion coat the thread wraps with super glue before you wrap the biot. Makes it much more durable

Nice midge. I especially like how you can see the crystal flash flash near the end. If that makes sense. Looks like Troutcandy to me!
Awesome skills good looking fly
Thanks Curtis for sharing
Would adding a little bit of clear resin on the body of this help to make it a little heavier?
Wear light colored shirt so we can see the finished fly better :)
I keep looking at this pattern and think that it should be the basis of an emerger pattern .... guess I need to tie some up and see how they do
yep... Its a fish getter.
20mm tungsten bead? How deep are you fishin that thing? ;)

''Jeremiah was a bullfrog''
Dark shirt, small fly, not zoomed in very close. Cool pattern, but not very easy to see in this vid.
focus Please make it bigger(>.
Im sure this pattern catches a lot of fish but i just dont get how a fish is going to get fooled by a pupa thats about 30x bigger than the adult.
