Use painters tape. It has less adhesive and is designed not to damage paint when removed.

Looks great 👍 good idea.
To make the tape less sticky you can first stick it to a piece of clothing and then stick it on your work piece.

Cool scenery idea with some great weathering tips, I'd recommend using marking tape next time. It's less sticky so it doesn't rip up the paint when you take it off.
