It’s a shame but it happens to a lot of beautiful women. They either are always chasing more beauty or trying to reverse the aging process. And it never works. Worse case scenario they end up looking like a freak show. It happens to men from time to time as well a la Michael Jackson

Beautiful natural women. It reminds me of when my mom at sixteen was on holiday in Durban and my gran entered her in a beauty contest . My mom was very peeved but she stepped out of the ocean brushed her hair into a ponytail and won the beauty contest. At 78 today she still is flawless. 🇿🇦🇿🇼👍
What is it with the "natural"? Almost all Hollywood icons went under the knife to boost their careers, fourty years later it was till the same for actresses, models etc. Famous examples such as Marily Monroe, Cher and Pamela Anderson are all featured here.

I have to confess that I used to have one of the “missing” indicators. A family friend’s company had the contract to scrap the generators etc, so around 1958 I was given free range of the guns, magazines, connecting tunnels and the generator bunker. Heady stuff for a 12 year old! There was a lot more there at the time, several buildings (one of which I think housed the railway locomotives), the Battery Command Post with a plotting room/ telephone exchange below etc. There was also a dummy gun ( tin barrel, pipe frame with canvas over simulating the turret and painted stones to simulate the emplacement) to the north just across the road.

Looking at this shot of her admittedly it is not easy to tell but if 1952 is accurate then she’s 16-17 years old here, which does look right. The face is hers: eyes, cheekbones and smile, but she’s not had her teeth fixed yet and we are used to seeing her as blonde. It’s not the woman’s face that we know beginning with Mary Poppins, which would not be until 12 years after this pose. She was well known in English music halls as a very young child. Her parents were vaudevillians and discovered her unique singing voice very early. She performed for the royal family by age 10 and on the BBC TV. She was photographed often.
