    Jalen Green may not be an All NBA defender but he is still a plus defender. His defense has really improved this year due to him getting much stronger compared to his previous seasons. Also there's a difference to his offensive success recently in the way he plays. He's not forcing his shots like before and is much more patient in taking advantages in mismatch. Another thing that really opened things up for him is him passing out to open teammates when driving into a collapsed defense, which makes defenses more hesitant in collapsing in on him on drives now

    • @TheMissinLink
      @TheMissinLink 6 месяцев назад

      i think plus defender is a stretch. He is more like treading water. Ime coming in has certainly changed his mentality on that end, but he still lacks versatility, and still struggles with screens. Also doesn’t seem like he gets many deflections or forced turnovers(have not checked pbp to bolster claim) If you are not going to be absolutely elite at the POA, you need to have versatility and/or some sort of paint presence to be a positive defender as a small guard.

      That is a very good point, The rockets does not need breakout games from time to time, they need consistent production. I would rather have Jalen score 20 ppg if they would have a winning season and even playoff contention. He needs to pick his spots and shots and keep himself healthy and available all the time.

    the Rockets really got their work cut out for them for everybody to see... and thats to keep Jabari Sengun & Green around & let them work it out under Ime...Amen & Cam aint goin nowhere anytime soon, so... just lock'em up & roll wit it.... i see Jabari getting a lil quicker too at his size on his way to possibly be a legit 3 at the end of the day, a position that is still the premium for the ultimate success imo.... unless you got Jokic of course... speaking of, he could still become the face of the Rockets, or "just" be the Nuggets Aaron Gordon at the least.... cause if Sengun & Green can halfway copy what Jokic & Murray are puttn up, rockets are playoff locks with what they got on the roster... and i saw them two working on it just b4 Sengun got hurt as they were in their own ways too many times in their 2 man game when they went to it earlier this season....... the Space is the limit for these Rockets is what im tryna say lol

Guys that are top end stars are usually already playing around a top 50 level by their 3rd/4th season, which he clearly is not at that level. I also just never saw the path for that level. The game has slowed down for him, and he is learning to use his speed, and he is the most confident that he has ever been.
    And I disagree the second half of the season is harder bc teams are trying to make the play off push and fight for seeding. But teams that are eliminated are playing younger guys and guys who didn't get the opportunity, but that doesn't mean it's weaker than the first half of the season.
