The Copenhagen recordings
The cooperation between Niels Neergaard and Magno Bissoli dates back to 1980, when they met in São Paulo, Brasil. Three months later they met again, this time in Copenhagen, Denmark, where Magno stayed for almost 3 years.
In 1981 they decided to start a group to play only their own music, leading them to many clubs in countries like Sweden, Denmark, Brazil and Argentina.
Many great musicians have participated: Allan Botschinsky - Trumpet, Ben Besiakow - Piano, Niels Lan Doky - Piano, Hugo Rasmussen - Bass, Jens Winther - Trumpet, Jesper Lundgaard - Bass, Horacio Larumbe - Piano, Vitor Alcântara - Sax and Flute, Zé Alexandre - Bass, Fernando Correa - Guitar, Fabio Torres - Piano, Sizão Machado - Bass, Nils Tuxen - Guitar, Manfred Thiers - Bass, Paulo “Paulada” Falanga - percussion, Thomas Clausen - piano and Claudio Celso - Guitar.
In 1987, Niels invited the guitar player Søren Addemos and the bassist Torben Westergaard to join the group. With this formation they played several concerts in Brazil, performed on a TV show for Danmarks Radio and also made two tracks studio recordings.
Ao is included in the album "The Copenhagen Recordings", produced with material recovered from K7 tapes copies of those recordings.
