This one was a last minute acquisition that appeared locally to me. Follow me while go I hunting for arcade collectibles in this video series. I find a gem of a deal: A working Centipede arcade machine in decent shape for $120. I make the deal, take it home and clean her up!

Get yourself two pieces of plexi and some mirror mounting hardware and sandwich the backdoor sheet between the plexi and mount it back in place with the mirror brackets. Works great to preserve it.
Hmm, nice idea.
i did clean my commodore monitor in the dishwasher after 1 week of drying it works perfect ,no more nicotine :)
Great work, Del! Only $120?! My man!
Yuuup, wait until you see it now though...
Awesome video! can't wait for [Part 2]
nice
quick response pick up
Can’t wait to see!
Looking good Del!
Thanks! You should see how it all came out. Looks amazing now with the updates.
I actually bought a restored centipede for $600 last week😊 Looking forward to seeing all the progress you make on your game
Good news! This project has been completed. I am in the process of editing Part 2 with the Willis overlay installation. :-)
I say stick with the marquee you just put in there. I like the history that it has and it ties in well with the bezel. Besides, it’s not like the side art is perfect anyway. I like the character. Really cool video, excellent find and an even better project. Can’t wait to see what’s next!
Yeah, it looks really good in person. Going to keep it as is. Looks great with overlay and t-molding. I hinted at it in this video at the end. :-)
Very nice Del! I had two since another one popped up for $50 and traded that for a Pole Position. Still have to cap the monitor in the one I still have
Good trade for that price!
Something I do. Give him the money and ask to take the board home with you.
I've done that in the past: Just for security's sake. But this guy seemed nice (I'm a pretty good judge of character.) So since it was local I didn't bother. Also, I found out later that the PCB was soldered to the harness, so it would have been a pain to take out. Yikes
@@delsarcade ya you get a good feel for person. I believe 99.9 percent of people are honest and decent. $120 for a centipede seems like quite the score
Enjoyed the vid...GREAT pickup. You have a link for those nylon levelers you used? Thanks!
You can grab these on Amazon: amzn.to/2OtpYiz
They fit in arcade cab existing leg leveler holes, but if you need to repair your cabinet they also come with the metal screw to fix them. Bonus!
You mentioned the neon green molding. Where do you get it? What size? 3/4?
Yes, 3/4" size. T-molding.com is the only place that makes it (that I know of). It's called "Galaxian Green".

I’ve been looking for the Willis control panel overlay, but haven’t found it. Where did you find it?
Edit: I jumped the gun. You mentioned TOG at the end of the video.
Yup, This Old Game has it. If it's not in stock email them. They can print one up for you.
Forgive my ignorance but in any restore videos I see, I never see anyone cleaning the PCB's they are often caked in dirt. Why is that?
If they are really dirty I typically clean them in the sink with Simple Green and distilled water, followed by an alcohol bath. But normally you can just use a soft paint brush to remove the dust.
In some extreme cases, you can do what I did: ruclips.net/video/Nf9e7AUPI4Y/видео.html
Lastly, I clean arcade monitor chassis all the time with Simple Green and water. Those are usually the grimiest: ruclips.net/video/kRqs5Srjhv4/видео.html
Is this your first time buying a game? No way to get it home, leaving game until tomorrow.
No, but I've bought too many to count, LOL. Sometimes you just need to assess the situation and make a judgment call. In this case I weighed the options. It's not a game I HAD to have. If the deal went south I'd be OK with it. But for a more important game I would have picked it up the moment I paid him.
@@delsarcade I guess I could see that.
So many greedy guys will get it instead. They will lowball you and score
Some will do the opposite and snipe it. Like I mentioned in the video they offer a higher amount than what it's listed for and it's still a low price and they end up getting it.
