i like the lyrics. they sort of seem about a person who has a problem, either mental illness such as bipolar disorder, or perhaps an addiction. and there's someone, probably a girlfriend, who could help. but instead of helping all she did was leave. so he's saying if you wont cure me, at least kill me, but don't just leave.
Matt only played drums on 'Tijuana Jail' and 'Black'. Danzeisen played on the majority of the Pawnshop album and the EP 'Blooze'. Marc Danzeisen was also the touring drummer from '94 to '95. Matt and Marc are two of L.A's most consistent, hard hitting veteran players over the last 28 years. Gilby chose Marc because of there friendship over the last 25 years and Gilby always wanted to play with or record with Marc.
@supermarine67 Slash plays that solo phrasing on the studio recording of this song but Gilby still is an amazing lead player. Check out some Snakepit stuff where he plays lead you will be amazed
Looks like he's having fun which is what it's all about, love this song. BTW his wife designs Frankie B jeans which sell millions in the US so think he's ok for money!
I love the music and Gilby's guitar playing, but he aint no singer. He writes great songs though, very similar guitarist/songwriter to Izzy really, very loose and bluesy and dirty rock n roll. Although he's probably more of a lead guitarist than Izzy. With a really good vocalist and Gilby writing he could have a killer band that rivals any of Izzy's solo work or GnR, Velvet Revolver, Adlers Appetite lineup.
i suppose it doesnt help that most of his career he was playing in the shadow of slash. I really think gilby is a cool character. and yeah, he should have stayed with slash and duff.
Oh my God this is so horrible. He can't sing, he can't even get the bending in tone. The song could be ok but not played by him. Poor man, he should disappear.
I agree about the riff...I love Gilby!!!
Gilby Rocks and yes he is a great person!
Great Singer, great guitar player and great song
this song is wonderful
GILBY ROCKS!!!!!!!!!
Aupa gilby!!! q bueno estas!! una pena q ya no este guns n roses, erais unos maquinas!!

i've been trying to get that bass tone. damn!

was just thinking that, this style of music makes more sense with two guitars
actually johnny depp plays guitar too, he has recorded songs with oasis
OMG wow, what pickups does gilby use in his les paul?
I think velvet revolver borrowed this riff
i always thought that when he played with guns he was really good. him and slash had a good thing going
woah i never knew he went solo... call me ignorant but i thought he went straight from g'n'r to rockstar supernova
Wow. I never knew Johnny Depp played guitar
His solo phrasing is very similar to Slash's.

You call that singing????
well, he learn't from the best :-D
He was a poor choice for Guns. He's a lead player and had trouble playing rhythm.
nice start, but then they killed it with boring guitars and vocals. cud have been good
isn't rock n roll .. i like gilby but this song NO from stars to farm
gilby should thank his lucky stars. god, i've seen better performances and heard better songs from high school garage bands.
Oh my God this is so horrible. He can't sing, he can't even get the bending in tone. The song could be ok but not played by him. Poor man, he should disappear.
gilby is way better than slash man!!! i allway knew
GILBY ROCK ..
but he's not a good singer. sorry
nice guitar riffs , but gilby can't sing
