Taylor Danley The Citrus Amps please! Preferebly mid-pronounced, you know like the band Ghost's live tone during 2013-2016. A video that demonstrates that tone well is Ghost Live at Annexet 2015 by Hans Von Bell
Same, it's much easier to just say that pretty much all of their songs are great. But Cirice, Ritual and Absolution are probably at the top for me. But their guitar tone is amazing, I've been trying to get that for quite some time now. I don't own a modeler, so it's been difficult to achieve it with gear that isn't what they've used. But the Orange Micro Dark clean with a Rat distortion boosted with a Tube Screamer going in to it gets in that ballpark
With custom IRs or v2.0.3 you get great sounds from 200 too. For playing live I would suggest 250 of course as there are more options with the cables, volume knobs etc
One application that would be key is comparing both through a clean channel or effects return of an amplifier with the cab models off to see if there are differences there. I do that alot live.
For me, that cab feature on a lot of processors is something I wind up using often, not for the authenticity of the cab particularly , just because 'it' often radically changes whatever sound you have going on, changes that sound for better and worse , depending on which cab you hit, a Marshall 412, may not sound anything like a Marshal 412, but is sure will change the sound compared with some of the other cabinet 'names' . lol ./
I use a Mooer Ge200 practice and live. I found a capture of the pre amps for a Rev amp, it came from a Ge300 and I have no idea where I found it now. But it dramatically changed the tone on that thing. It sounded so good when paired with a proper power amp. I get compliments on my tone all the time.
it does sound much better, but is it because they made their own models better by tweaking them, like adding a choptones metal pack? or is it that the hardware is better?
They sound different, but I don't know if I would say the 250 sounds better. I liked both. It would be interesting to compare the blacknight vs the pedal version. Or any other model they have a mini preamp of. Loved the riffs!👍

To me the ge200 has more clarity but IMHO the difference is the EQ . With EQ tweak you can make them sound identical. There is video here GE200 vs GE300 amp comparison... basically NO DIFFERENCE !
Great video dude! Can you compare the 250 to the new Line 6 Pod Go Pro? I’m really interested in both of these units and they are priced similarly but which rocks more would be awesome to see. Rock on!
The 4cm was the reason I didn’t get the 200 and did get an hx stomp. I would have loved the footprint of the mooer and would have been fine with the sounds of the models but, I do use my hx with my amp most of time so it was must to have that feature. If it was today and I was deciding I would strongly lean to the 250 for the number of effects at once as well as the extra buttons and expression pedal built in. I do have the option of making a crazy pedal board with the stomp though and that will make it very adaptable for the future
Also side question, is the 250 capable of send and return on the midi simultaneously? Or is it more limited in the midi functionality by only allowing for send or return depending on the patch setting?
With stock amps and IRs there's quite some difference, but if you know how to dial between profiles and custom IRs, the difference is quite absent, if not on general quality in dynamics and recording, but that's a substancial hardware one
Great content overall and this video is especially timely for me. I've been considering a modeler and the question of is the ge250 worth the extra money has been hard to figure out. It's sounds considerably better.

Taylor I have no clue if I'll get a response from you about this but I'll ask anyway, how were you able to send the GE200 directly to the front of house without an XLR output?
Not sure if you read this. I was wondering if i can use my raw out/preamp out on my tube amp or the line out of my attenuator to go into a mooer ge200 and use Only the cab sim to send my real amp through an ir? This way i would Only need the modeler and not another ir loader pedal like mooer radar… for live situations or headphone practice. My attenuator does not have a headphone out.
The GE250 has a lot more depth to its sounds... but Taylor does it now feel like a HX stomp, does it feel more like a tube amp? How is the attack when compared to Line6?

There is a slight difference. 200 is a modeler, but 250 is a profiler, it can sample and replicate sound of the amp, due it’s “Tone Capture” function. So, if you want to own something like Kemper, but in the price level up to 500$, it’s first choice for you. Instead of this, 200 is still very good modeler, and with third party IRs it can produce really killer sounds.
congratulations, excellent video !!! @@Sleeep1 +100 for engl, absolutely love it in this unit. I compared ENGL simulation in G200 to Line6 (stomp/native/floor) and some plugins, as well as the real amp, Mooer does it 99% better than others.
Hey Bartosz, I'm planning on doing the same. Got a question for you regarding the GE250. When you change patches using the A B C switches does the patch change the instant you PRESS the switch DOWN to its furthest point, or does it change the instant you LIFT your foot RELEASING the switch? (If the latter happens it gives a sense of "lag" when changing patches) and I want to make sure exactly whats happens before I buy it. Thanks so much!
The 250 uses exactly the same code as the preamp pedals and way better IRs than the GE200, probably the Radar ones. The GE200 predates most of the preamp pedals and it shows.
I like the 200 better. It sounds like the treble is a bit high but the 250 just sounds too modern and held back. 200 has that classic 90s death growl of aggression and defiance.. Also this is just one setting. With these multi effect pedals there's bound to be some effects you'd like more than others side by side in a blind test. For me these pedals are just to bs around in and record demos until I can dial in a more precise sound on computer based software like Axe FX or Helix FX. For that I want a small unit, easy UI, and a low price point. So 200 wins!
Very cool. The global EQ light was on, you said you weren't going to turn it on, that could have made a big difference...? The 200 sounded like a cheap plastic knockoff compared to the 250. There was that fuzz and sizzle that is not as appealing. As other have said, Ampero vs GE250..... FIGHT! :)
I know, I should have turned the light off... oversight. The Global EQ was bypassed when I reamped the guitars though. Yes, it would have a big impact, but what I hear between the 2 is the mids sound smoother and more glassy in the 250.
@@TaylorDanley I had to point it out, I'm super anal like that :P. Agreed, it's certainly a warmer, less harsh, much more pleasing tone. Good stuff man!
F! Taylor WTF!!! This video is impossible to watch! I mean like literally- I only perceive THE RIFF!!! I’ve restarted the test 5(!) times and ended up writing this. First it gave me insomnia after your live stream, and now it’s here. AGAIN! No, seriously it’s absolutely flawlessly sick and as hooky as it can get. I guess I’m gonna have to learn it tomorrow, otherwise there’s no way to get it outta my head. It coooould make a great platform for some sort of subs’ collab imho. It’s not that hard to learn, seems fun to play and catchy. Imagine an edit where a bunch of people perform it in small parts (cuts) one after another. Well apparently everyone has to play it full and the Owner(haha) gets to ‘cut the cake’ of best parts. That would be Sooo cool !
😂😂😂 thanks. 🤔 I'll keep that in mind. I want to see how quarantine riff goes before I do any other big collab vids. So far I have more submissions than I expected!
5:53 Great , that's what most of use came here for, we wanted you're opinion, not just a question. It seemed to me that the 250 was a tighter sound on almost everything, the 200 sounded great, but the 250 seemed to just tighten everything up, sounded like a bit more quality tone.
Both sound killer, but the 250 certainly has an edge. The sounds are just more defined and responsive, where the 200 sounds a bit flat in comparison. The new features and I/O are icing on the cake.
The feature set really is what seals the deal I think. I still need to run it through its paces. So busy making other content I haven't had a chance to just sit down and play with it yet!
I have the GE200 and since I put the 2.0.3 update the sound has improved a lot, before that update I was not convinced, the sound was like digital, but now it sounds really good. What I would like to know is if the GE250 has better effects than the GE200. Compressor, Chorus, Flanger, are not good. Great video Taylor, although I saw it a little late.
Bullshit just different Eq on presets.Just upload your own IR's on GE 200...the 300 maybe is better cause of Analog Devices Processor, but 700$ no way...👎
These full blown studio productions are good to sell stuff, but they just don't help us guitar players here. The sound is not what you get out of the box, even not with hours of tweaking. You're a faker, Taylor!

Which firmware version are you using on the 200? 2.0.3 is out and it's supposed to be the best version so far. I don't have a PC right now so I can't update mine yet.
B2.0.3.
@@TaylorDanley I suggest to update to the final V2.0.3, Mooer released it couple of days ago. Some people reported the sound improved compared to the Beta version.
I'm gonna wait a couple weeks. I heard it was pretty buggy? Either way, I'll get to it soon!
Cool video. Subbed.
I always use my amp, I guess
this is crap with an amp, I have
yet to hear anyone use any of
the GE series with an amp.
Hi all, for the last 2 years I used mooer ge 200, last Friday I got it new Mooer ge 300.
I really disappointed because sound it’s so muddy….. not open like ge 200…..
I’m decided sent new purchased back….😀
GE250 v Ampero ?!
thanks for video man , i sold my line 6 pod hd 500x so which will be the upgrade ? 200 or 250? ,thank you .
Buen video, pero estoy entre la g250 y la nueva zoom g6, podrias hacer una review de la Zoom
I sold my GE200 for GE250. It is big improvement - and with Tone Capture its a lot better.
And I want to hear compare between EVHIII and ENGL. This are best higain amp in Mooer GE 200 for me.
@@Sleeep1 +100 for engl, absolutely love it in this unit. I compared ENGL simulation in G200 to Line6 (stomp/native/floor) and some plugins, as well as the real amp, Mooer does it 99% better than others.
I really like those amps as well!
Do you think the GE250 sounds exactly like the micro pre amps?
250 wins. Is it possible two mics in the 250?
No, it has the same cab controls as the ge200, they just have way more control over the tone.
@@TaylorDanley Thanks. I dont know about the 250, but using two mics in Helix makes difference.
So 200 wins!
me too
Which one you prefer so far, GE 250 or ampero?
Hard to say, haven't had much time with the ge250... but it does have more features. Things I really wish the ampero had, like global EQ
It's a great difference, Mooer GE250 has global eq and GE200 doesn't, in the video the global eq appear to be on,..
I know, it's off. I'm not sure why the light stays on when you bypass it 🤷♂️
@@TaylorDanley no problem, it's a great demo, I have an mooer Ge200 and I love the machless, rec one video about this amp on ge250, if possible...
they do!
It would be helpful to have some clean settings for comparison as well. Thanks
what for ? who uses cleans?:D
Even when I try and play with clean settings I feel like a fish out of water lol
250 sound much thicker and deeper!...and better!
Excelente video!! Yo tengo la ge 200 🙂
Give us some rigs for the 250!great video!
🙌
GE 250 VS POD GO. Lets go! =)
What are you doing here? Are you reading my mind??
I read it and thanks hi to your mom
This video make me wanna sale my GE200 and buy a new GE250.
I'd like to see about reverbs and delays...
5:53 Great , that's what most
of use came here for, we wanted
you're opinion, not just a question.
It seemed to me that the 250 was
a tighter sound on almost everything,
the 200 sounded great, but the 250
seemed to just tighten everything up,
sounded like a bit more quality tone.
Both sound killer, but the 250 certainly has an edge. The sounds are just more defined and responsive, where the 200 sounds a bit flat in comparison. The new features and I/O are icing on the cake.
The feature set really is what seals the deal I think. I still need to run it through its paces. So busy making other content I haven't had a chance to just sit down and play with it yet!
it´s just me, or the 200 sounds better than the 250???
To my ears, the GE250 sounds more convincing. By quite a bit as well.
This is now on my list.
I opted for the G300synth my G. Its got way more bells and whistles💋💋💋💋
Hello... I read it....and I'm not the mom...
Wow I was not expecting that, I didn't think there was going to be so much difference
120$ - nux mg 300
150$ - ?
200$ - mooer ge 200, pod X3live, pod hd500
250$ - pod hd500x
300$ - none ?
400$ - none ?
450$ - mooer ge 300lite(bc tone capture)
250 definitely has less fizz.
Exactamente
they sound different but to my, don't know if better, i think i definitely don't enjoy the mooer voices
They both sound comparable to my ancient Zoom 505
250 seems to have better IR's
Spiel mal acustic
DUDE!!!
BRO!
Bullshit just different Eq on presets.Just upload your own IR's on GE 200...the 300 maybe is better cause of Analog Devices Processor, but 700$ no way...👎
GE250 did sound better
uhmm.. i am not your mom. 😁
😂🤷♂️
These full blown studio productions are good to sell stuff, but they just don't help us guitar players here.
The sound is not what you get out of the box, even not with hours of tweaking.
You're a faker, Taylor!
You must be really, really bored!
💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💋❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤💯💯💯💯💯💯💯GE 300synth is the way to go get. I chose that bc its better bang for your buck
