      At what point is Caleb going to be held responsible? He overruled the play sent in, then readjusted the formation (causing another 10 seconds to come off the clock), then threw deep. If he just runs the play sent in and they complete a short pass (or he runs) for 5-8 yards, they have plenty of time to call a timeout and kick the game-tying FG. That's the strategy the coach laid out at the end and he is correct in his approach. Caleb f'd them because he didn't realize they had one timeout left.

    As a Lions fan I just want to say this dude should be fired because he sabotaged that game. Sure kicking the field goal doesn’t guarantee the win in OT but going into OT is at least better than not calling the timeout and snapping a final play with 6 seconds left. I don’t even really blame Caleb for that. Sure he took a while after getting sacked to get up and then called a huddle instead of getting in one more quick play. He’s going to make rookie mistakes. There were other ones he made throughout the game but I think Caleb will be a good QB in this league the more games and reps he gets.

      As a Bears fan, I would like to say that the Bears did not do well in the first half. You probably watched the game and listened to those talking heads cheerlead for Detroit at that time. In the second half, they were so disappointed when the Bears came back and so happy when they couldn't pull off a come from behind in the end. It almost destroyed their narrative that the Lions are the most wonderful thing since the 72 Dolphins and the Bears are dysfunctional. I understand that the crazy over-sensationalization you get from TV clouds your perception, but the Bears are doing great. They were not suppose to win this season (that's only a media thing), they were suppose to develop their rookie QB. All is well!

I hope 18 is as strong willed as I think he is to withstand this dumpster fire of an organization and head coach. But I'm not mad, my anger was at its peak at half time in Zona, after that I told myself, no amount of my anger is going to reach this team to fuel their passion. I'm just raising my blood pressure, so when I go, my last wish is that the organization be my pallbearers so they can let me down for the very last time. One day, my City will be back Up like when the Cubs won after 100 years. I don't ask Jesus for much, but I pray every time I wake to thank Him, and ask Him to give us health, and to let me see my team win another SB for my kids to see it with me, and for my long suffering City. We are the worst team this League has to offer. And I say that soberly in a meh state of mind. They have sucked out my football spirit. Congrats. His inability to take charge, when the offense was not setting up fast enough, with Caleb looked out of sorts, and calling a timeout before letting 20+ seconds tick off the clock, is pathetic and inexcusable. He needs to wake up tomorrow morning with a message on his phone indicating he's been fired.

    Is Eberflus illegally betting on Bears outcomes? Literally, if that was the reason, that would make sense. Otherwise, these blunders week after week after week are incomprehensible. I've never ever seen a team find so many ridiculously crazy ways to lose in all of my years watching football. This team could arguably have 8 or 9 wins by now and their late game coaching strategy is costing them games. Flus is a good man but he needs to be let go tomorrow and let Thomas Brown be the interim coach the rest of the season. It can't get any worse than this. It's worse losing all these close games b/c we know this team is playoff potential and this year is just being wasted by idiotic late game management. Flus is a good man but good god, let's end this misery already

    5:25 into that presser before the guy says: "It's on me." Earlier in the season the Lions had a similar gaggle at the end of the half where they didn't get a field goal off because no one knew what the hell they were doing. First words out of Coach Campbell's mouth the first time he was asked about it: "That was all my fault." He could have hung it on the coordinator or the players for that matter but he said it was on him and he might have cost em the game. It's called accountability. This guy ducked and dodged more than a politician.
    I'm a Lions fan, and I said you guys should have beaten us both times last year. I'm not going to say you all should have won this game but at a minimum it should have gone to overtime. I had the Bears picked as WC team this year because the talent is there. If this guy still has a job on Monday that'll be on the owners. Word around our camp fire is Ben Johnson might take the gig if it's offered to him. I hope that doesn't happen because I'm selfish that way, but I still say your team will be the Lions main competition in the NFC North for the next few years. There's nothing wrong with your QB that a bit of coaching up can't fix, and Ben is a helluva fixer-upper. I just hope you find your next coach somewhere else.
    I feel bad for ya for two reasons. As a Lions fan I have lived your pain. Second, you're not Green Bay so I can feel bad for ya. I'm not sure we will beat you on your home field. That's why we needed this one. You'll be okay once you lose this clown.

    The fact that he can't change anything in retrospect even when he LOST says everything. When people ask what went wrong and all he does is keep repeating what the plan "should have been" it tells everyone that he's blaming the players. The fact that the great plan was actually fine, it was the execution that didn't work only leaves the blame on the players, but he knows he can't actually say that it was their fault so he has to just keep repeating himself like a child caught in a lie.

  • @FlinthillsFloyd
    @FlinthillsFloyd 12 часов назад +3

    He still seems confused. First, it's Caleb's fault. He had no idea what he was doing and he didn't lead or know his responsibilities. Ultimately Caleb needs to get the snap off before 10 seconds. The coach was expecting the snap and he seemed to panick once it got under 10. I think the coach still thought the snap would come at 10, 9, 8. Then it was too late. That's Caleb's fault. He had the play in plenty of time to run it and call the time out. The coach was just like all the rest of us thinking WTF is Caleb doing. Snap the ball. This is on Caleb and the coach did his best to not blame the player. Caleb needs to be benched until be proves he understands time management and how to run a hurry up offense.

    Eberflus was correct in his strategic approach - run a play to gain 5-8 yards, call timeout and kick the game-tying FG. For all his haters, I'm sorry, this one's on Caleb, who apparently didn't realize the Bears still had a timeout left and decided to overrule the play sent in, adjust the formation (taking an additional 10 seconds) and then throwing essentially a hail-Mary pass to end the game. Lack of awareness on his part and we, as fans, need to stop overprotecting his mental mistakes.

  • @pekkle007
    @pekkle007 10 часов назад +1

    Once u see that your team is having trouble lining up even while the clock is ticking down, u have to have enough sense to see that your ideal scenario of "get the ball closer & down to 7 sec and kick the ball" ain't gonna happen so u have to call the TO to reset the players for 1 planned final shot.
